Ehhhh.... I hoped you talked her into it.

Sorry.

Hang fire?

Seriously, I can not say if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It's life, not some band.

But through the lonely nights...

Ok I'll stop.

You sound a little tanked up.

The recipe for a happy life doesn’t necessarily include women. Fresh air, exercise, proper diet, a couple of Stones records, a single malt, and some Japanese porn are all I really need. My wife hasn’t quit me yet but if she ever does I don’t think it would really faze me. Maybe I’d get a dog.

Max, just figure out what you need to be happy when she’s gone and start preparing for that eventuality. If it’s one of those ‘I can’t live without her’ deals then no doubt you’ll wallow in pity for a while and cry on every available shoulder but understand that only in extreme cases do men kill themselves over a lost love. You’ll probably survive.

Play «Through The Lonely Nights». Over and over. That is what I did when I was away from my girl friend for a year back in the mid 70’s, army services in Norway. We are still married. Then take her to something she likes, like her favorite band concert, or shopping (ouch!), whatever it takes. Give and take, that it part of a lasting friendship.

When I was a kid my mother told me the key to a successful marriage was to remember one thing.

One person is always right and the other person is the husband.

I'd say that's more like "Can't Stand Losing You" then lost and lonely. But as Oasis used to say "I don't mind being on my own"

I don’t know about the rest of you married dudes, but I wear the pants in my house…that is when my wife’s not around.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in July. She has supported (mostly tolerated) my Stones fanboy life the entire time, probably because I'm a good provider and family man otherwise. We had a tongue on our 1975 wedding cake which was a few days before I cut short our honeymoon to catch a Stones show at Cobo Hall in Detroit. It only got worse (better) after that with me flying around the USA and Europe for over 100 shows since then,

And, yes, she's attended and enjoyed several Stones concerts over the years.

Love is Strong

Celebrated our 51st anniversary in April.

First date with my wife was February 24,1973. Yep, The Rolling Stones concert at the WACA in Perth.

She’s known I’m a Stones nutter since then. And “understands” it.

She loves them in concert, loved The Enmore Licks show, and front row Adelaide in 2014 in particular, but doesn’t really like much of their recorded output. She prefers Springsteen on record.

Though she is now suffering from Alzheimer’s. For about 4-5 years now, so doesn’t really recall much of those gigs. The long goodbye I’ve heard it described as. It is.
