Such a pleasure chatting with Justin on his podcast - tracing Stone footsteps across America... he does an amazing job celebrating the band, too...

2019. Me and my girlfriend at the time go see The Rolling Stones at the Louisiana Superdome.

Her two sons are with us. It was hilarious. I was the only one paying attention to the show. In other words, I said "Did you see that!!!???" about Mick singing "Cherry red"... the entire stadium turning red... they were busy talking (sorry but who pays $350 for nosebleeds and talks through an entire show?).

My girlfriend turns to me and says, What!??

"Oh you can see it on YouTube tomorrow."

That entire experience was an eye opener in a lot of ways.

2017 I go see U2 at the same place. Because my dying wife couldn't make it I invited a best friend.

After the show we go to a bar in New Orleans that only locals know about.

Saw a friend from Mobile, Alabama there.

After the Stones show, my girlfriend said, Hey let's go out.

Went to the same bar.

Saw my same friend from Mobile, Alabama there.

Some people "know", others go to (in this case, Bourbon st or one other spot) and perhaps run into someone.

It's no one about iorr.org but it's someone I know, kinda, that loves great live music.

I will not name the bar.

But both times were extremely interesting.

Probably not what you had in mind in regard to the meaning of the thread... yet still the same, just not in your exact meaning.

?

Short version is I've run into - and know - people that hung out with the Stones in 1994... including where they were.

I will not name the bar.

Nothing like loyalty to a random establishment.

Just subscribed to Justin’s excellent podcast. Impressive guests, very enjoyable, great ”radio voice”.

Chuckled when Justin - just as a little side note - touch upon how you won’t play Rambler without the capo. True. Also, you can’t play it in open G like that other pioneer youtuber who insisted everything Keith ever recorded was in Open G. grinning smiley Early days of instructional videos. smiling smiley

It's not a "random establishment". It's a local New Orleans bar. It gets plenty of people there regardless of a show at the Superdome by U2 or the Stones.

This is a great podcast, as is Under the Radar. Interestingly, both podcasts are pretty focused on (and have a lot of praise for) the work from 1983-present.

Love the Hang Fire podcast. It's my go-to when I'm looking for Stones content.
