I am so sorry for what you and your parents are going through. It’s wonderful that music can lift us up and away for a while. There is more than one Stones song that can do it (not sure if this translates, but there is an expression ‘an embarrassment of riches’ that describes it) but for me, it’s Around And Around that never fails. 12 x 5 came into the house when I was 4 years old. First side, first track. I remember dancing on the wood floor in my little sock feet and that feeling of joy… When they played it in Newark in 2012 I nearly wept. I think I’ll play it a few times today, and will think of you and your folks. Stay well, stay strong.

Having lost both of my parents in the last few years, I sadly relate to your pain and wish you peace in the coming days. Waiting on a Friend lifts me up, every time.

I lost my parents in the last few years. It's hard, and I'm thinking of you and the pain you're going through, caschimann.
Everything Is Turning To Gold is a song that gets me up every time. Something about the groove.

Sorry to hear what you are passing through Cashimann, been there with my mom not long ago.
As SomeTorontoGirl says, there's more than one song that does the trick to me too. Anyway, when I am feeling really down I use "Still Life"to collect the pieces. It was the first Stones record I bought in 1982 and I did not know much of the band at that time. It was love at first sight. So, putting that on the plate, it's kinda like make a 'tabula rasa' for me, turn off the brain, reset everything by moving, dancing, singing to that collection. For me it is like living again those feelings of joy, awe, enthusiasm and I get nourishment and energy that help me moving on.
