This looks like it had to have been one of the most insane moments in Stones history. I would love to hear from fans that were there. Was it as crazy as it looks?

Wow! That's a fantastic clip, those Madrileños know how to party. And how about Mick's outfit?!

Storm, rain, and balloons...
electrically charged atmosphere...
oh, I was still extremely young back then!
I wasn’t there, but it truly looks wild, funny, a bit chaotic, and so colourful! drinking smiley

I can tell you from personal experience the Urban Jungle was like this too. I was mid field in Madrid and the crowd was relentless. I couldn't believe the energy. After all in these days Madrid was on fire. Great time in history. I think 1982 must of been even more special.

Love the shots of the stage crew trying to stop the (audience) right hand screens from blowing away!

I have a photo (not taken by me) from the June show in Munich. It's the very opening of the show, the curtains are half open, the band are running out and the balloons either side of the stage have just been released.

It's a photo that catches a moment. Enlarged and framed.

On that tour, two concerts were held. A friend of mine — the one who introduced me to the Stones' world — was at the one where it didn’t rain. He was blown away.
As for the concert in the video, and in an interview with El País when asked about it, Keith Richards replied that on Judgment Day, God will demand payment from him for the lightning, thunder, and rain that coincided with the beginning of the show.
I can’t remember whether it was Richards or Jagger, but one of them said that they were getting ready to go on stage and, as soon as they saw what was coming, they all said something like “we’ve got to make the most of this!”
And indeed, they ended up with the best special effects: storm clouds, sudden darkness, lightning, thunder, and rain perfectly timed with the band’s announcement and the first chords of Under My Thumb.
