I know my original had red font lettering, and then at some point in the late seventies or early 80’s the font was printed in pinking lettering. Just scored at an estate sale the album with the pink font sealed with the 2 hype stickers. Anyone have any idea when the font color changed.

Did you consider the fact that red color easily fades to pink (or even white) under the direct sun light? Like this

The spine of the OBI was exposed to the sun, while the front part was not.

I am not saying that the changes of the color scheme of the label were not made on the factory. But if you deal with the old records/CDs the red->pink transition is usually the result of the exposition to the sun light.

If memory serves me well, it was CBS/Columbia who used pink, in occasion of their release of the back catalogue

The Columbia/ CBS reissues used different hype stickers than Atlantic and i don’t think they had gatefolds for GHS or BAB.
