Hmmm, "(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction" on 4 inch vinyl. It's been a long time coming.

I've got several small sized (Rolling Stones) CDs, but have never previously heard of 4" vinyl singles. I'd have thought that quite a few players would be unable to play this due to the automatic lift off as the arm nears the end of the tracking?

Is this a common 'new' format and I just live in another land and have no idea about what's going on in the world.....?

i'm as stumped as you are and also wonder how this can actually play on a normal turntable

on a related note the pictures immediately reminded me of the tiny mighty record format from the 60's

People are strange. They placed CDs in 7" jackets and in 12" deka-jake but squeeze vinyl down to 4" (that is less than a CD which is 4.7"). Anyway, completists will pay .

There are some odd releases like the Beatles' 3" records that are played on a tiny turntable, as well as some Third Man Records releases on that format.

As for a 4" record played on a normal turntable, it's the first time I hear about it.

It's a curio. No one in their right mind would buy this as their sole access to "Satisfaction". It's to be kept under glass - which you can argue is stupid, but it's what collector's do.

But even I've reached my fill with this stuff.

I have the 3 inch CD singles of GNR's Paradise City and The Cult's Fire Woman and Edie.

The last Stones 45 I bought was Mixed Emotions. The last 12" was Sad Sad Sad (I have no idea why I got it). I think DIRTY WORK was the last Stones vinyl LP I bought (however I don't have any of them, I gave them to a fried, the only Stones vinyl LPs I have are just whatever my wife had, which is first editions of SF, EOMS and ER).

As ridiculous as the Tiny Vinyl records price is I might have to get Satisfaction.

They keep delaying the release, new eta mid-Oct. - flying the tiny instruments in from El Paso.*
