One Hit and Dirty Work are certainly no tracks to be ashamed of.

To be honest they are very good tracks along with Sleep Tonight, Too Rude, Winning Ugly and Harlem Shuffle

Wrong ... It should have been a 3 song EP:
Too Rude
Harlem Shuffle
One Hit

And One Hit, is just average at best, probably slightly below. The rest could easily have never existed.

I suppose i just love the video to One Hit, Mick and Keith using the tension between them, it had a bit of anger and emotion to it.

I do really like the lyrics too, each to their own, i love it.

You think Sleep Tonight shouldn't have existed, do you have a beating heart.

What a great anthology!

What, none of the 4 on DIRTY WORK he co-wrote make the cut or the two he played drums on? The one he played saxophone on?

That's funny. Of course, it's not, that album blows. He's probably embarrassed. Rightfully so.

You remind me of a record player that's got stuck.

Truth is truth. Glad you can recognize that.

Be interesting to hear Ronnies cover of You're So Fine .....

The Falcons were a cool band outta Detroit who bridged R&B into soul...

And an early stepping stone for later soul greats like
Wilson Picket .... Eddie Floyd and Mack Rice

I love Ronnie's solo work but this packaging is so lazy and cheap that it hardly looks worth buying. A real shame. A stream will do.

I don't remember Crossexion but after seeing it pointed out here, there's so much overlap I'm wondering why they didn't just put out an expanded version of that.

I'm actually excited for this. KInks The Journey vol 3, The Who Live '71, and a Ron Wood comp. A lot of good stuff coming out in the next 3 months!

Looking forward to the live Kinks stuff on vol 3 as well! Though can't believe they left "Art Lover" off the set, what a great song.

***Ok, having reread the lyrics to Art Lover after not listening to it for many decades, it's seriously creepy and I can see why they left it off!***

out of curiosity i looked up the lyrics and dear god that is some messed up sh-t even back then

kinda puts stray cat blues into perspective

It's about his daughter, and not being allowed to see her as much as he liked, if memory serves.

Good lord I hope so!

yes it is i looked it up

but i also read that an earlier version of the song had a line in it that made that more clear but he removed it to make the song more vague

which is a pretty bizzare choice in my opinion

nice music though all things considered

Just a great melody, wish the lyrics weren't so creepy.

I was like 15 when this came out originally and I didn't make any sort of creepish connection at that time and loved the song, only to get creeped out by it later so good to know that was unintentional by Ray.

I miss Priceless.

I know it's far from the best ones, but I love it.

4 new tunes from Ronnie is a treat for me. I always admire his solo efforts. It's a pity that we not get "Coming Together" so beautiful song with Taylor and Kelly Jones. Taylor and Woody soloing extremly touching there.

I wonder if we might get a solo tour ?
Even one show in London would be great.

from the description below the video on youtube

'Mother Of Pearl' is a brand-new composition from Ronnie himself, the track marks a triumphant return to songwriting, sparked by the creative momentum of Fearless, and features vocals from Irish singer songwriter Imelda May.

‘Mother of Pearl’ is a joyous slice of classic R&B-infused rock’n’roll, bursting with energy, warmth, and infectious hooks. Co-produced by Ronnie’s son Jesse Wood and studio maestro Sean Genockey, the track was recorded at both the legendary Abbey Road and Metropolis Studios, and mixed at Rek Sound Studios. It showcases Ronnie’s unmistakable guitar work and heartfelt vocals, backed by Ian Thomas on drums, Guy Pratt on bass, Matt Clifford on keys, and Sean Genockey on acoustic guitar. Adding a shimmering layer to the track is the stunning vocal contribution from Imelda May, whose soulful tones bring a new dimension to this feel-good anthem of love, longing, and redemption.

No worries, DP. But a cool track. Thought it was a reggae-cover, like Keith on Crosseyed Heart - Overdue.

I have the Anthology The Essential Crossexion from 2006 on CD. Which is a pretty fun listen.

I do not need another anthology even if its tracklist differs somewhat.

These compilations... It is for streaming only or for people who dig vinyls.

And I agree with people who think tracks from Dirty Work should have been included.

I hope this topic will not turn into a DW slamming conversation. It is not their best album but it is The Boys and they have not had a bad album as far as I am concerned.

I do not need people telling me which album I should like.
