Keith with a pitchfork is classic!

Be careful what you look for poking around Redlands!

I’m sure this photo was taken during the 2018 World Cup: their ‘England themed’ attire and ‘digging for victory’ vibe. Keith’s even sporting a British WW2 helmet. Great photo.

Yes it was, Keith getting behind the England team, pity the manager had other ideas.

One of my trips to London my boyfriend rented a car, and we did a little tour of Redlands, which was partially visible, and you get a feel of the area. Also drove by MICK's townhouse, also only partially visible. It was cool!

If anyone is interrested in an old Postcard (80s) from the Witterings with Redlands on it:

Ebay Postcard Redlands

Keith loves the place and did say in an interview that he would never sell it, he’s owned it for almost 60 years and does play an active part in the local neighbourhood albeit from a distance.

There are probably more Stones sights to see in London, all easily accessible via public transport.

I do sometime exchange some texts with David Courts, the jeweler that designed Keith Richards’ famous skull ring.
Anyway, I know for sure Dave did visit Keith at Redlands back in the summer of 2022.

Ah, my mistake!

So.if you didn't go looking for him Rosemary invited you around and Roger, as he was then known by, agreed to meet you?

If not, I'd probably do some research into why what you did, even 40+ years later, isn't something to be proudly telling...

Well first of all I did not go looking for him.

Second, I have proudly told the story since 1982 including when I worked Pink Floyd concerts in 1987.

And so far, you are the only one to make such a negative comment.

Maybe you should read up on why Syd Barrett was an effective recluse and the opinions of Gilmour and Waters about those who tried to find him before proudly telling that story again....

You never know what you get when you visit a home of a former or current musician. In 1982 my friend Richard took me to the home Syd Barret was living in.

I got out of the car, knocked on the door and he actually answered. I told him I thought he was a genius and asked for his autograph.

He signed a piece of paper "Barrett" which I still have in my safe deposit box.

It is one of my most vivid memories from my trip that year.

What a shock it was. In some ways I am still in disbelief. It is one of my most treasured memorabilia!

Yesterday, I went to see what I could catch of Redlands.
Even though it’s a gated property, I managed to peek through the bushes and get a quick glimpse. It felt surreal being there, thinking about all the Rolling Stones history tied to that place.
I didn’t want to intrude on anyone’s privacy, though, so after about ten minutes, I left.

If I am not mistaken, Redlands was where Mick heard someone walking outside and asked Keith who it was and Keith replied 'That is Jack the gardener". Which was part of how Jumping Jack Flash was written.

I'm not entirely certain if that's exactly how it went, but it's been pretty much verified (right?) that Keith that Keith had a sprightly, elderly gardener called 'Jack', who formed a partial inspiration for the song, 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' I'm sure there's a picture of him that been published. somewhere. Maybe Bill's Rolling With The Stones?

What is interesting, is that Redlands really does hold a treasure trove of Stones history; it's certainly 'up there' with Villa Nellcôte, for me.

Makes sense. He must've stayed there around the time of the Hyde Park show, that year.
