How is it on Still Life they have 2 cover songs but not the fantastic Black Limo...at the time they were fine paying those royalties but nothing to Ron.

Hope he got a sandwich and a snack out of it at least. Maybe a juice box

That is a bit strange.

The TATTOO YOU tour live album and... 4 cover songs and only 1 TY track.

FOUR COVER SONGS. One from SOME GIRLS but so what.

Well, they hadn't played a couple Tattoo You songs in like eight or nine years!

TY songs played on the 1981-92 tour:
Start Me Up
Hang Fire
Little T&A
Black Limousine
Neighbours
Waiting On A Friend

Tops was played twice.

But there's four cover songs on the live album. They played 2 songs from ER and one track made the album; 6 from TY played and one made the album.

Fortunately the deluxe has WEMBLEY (they must've screwed up She's So Cold both nights) and all 6 TY tracks are on it.

They didn't play Waiting on a Friend in Europe that tour.

This snippet is on youtube. I am not uncritical towards Ronnie Wood, but this is brillant in my opinion: Groovy, shimmering and fresh.

In 1975 Ronnie was rolled out on flatbed truck in NYC for his Stones debut. My boyfriend was a photographer and found out about it. We skipped school so he could get some photos. The press were gathered in a restaurant, thinking the Stones were going to be there to announce the MSG tour dates. The truck stopped in front of the restaurant and all of the press came running out to be surprised that they were playing Brown Sugar. A small crowd gathered on 5th Ave and Brown Sugar was being played faster than usual so I thought that's gotta be the Ronnie effect! After 50 years, he's not the 'new kid' anymore, and I know he energized the band. It was an exciting time! Later I found out the flatbed truck was Charlie's idea!

WTF.

I see that now.

That makes no sense.

They played Chantilly Lace instead - another cover.

You probably weren’t aware of the 1973 European tour version, which is let’s say amphetamine laced as well.

Interesting.

Chantilly Lace is the weakest of the 5 covers on that entire tour.

Mick's yelling/grunting/wailing on that entire tour was absurd unlike any previous tour performance, the 1975-76 tours being the cake at that point (awful, overall).

What was his deal those 1981-82 tours? The length of the shows? So if he grunts and howls he can save his voice for something ridiculous like JJF and Satisfaction at the end?

Yet Time, Imagination, Go Go and 20 are fantastic on STILL LIFE... in their grunty caterhauling way.
