keithriffhards you've made your feelings about hackeny diamonds very clear but at this point all your doing is hurting your case and starting pointless arguments

might i suggest you avoid this topic for a while

i enjoy your posts in the clapton and dylan threads and there's a bunch of other threads about different topics not releated to hackney diamonds you could contribute to

but if you must continue posting about hackney diamonds could you at least do it in the thread about hackney diamonds

and please try to stop posting things in this thread that common sense would dictate would cause an off topic argument to break out

i'm sure we all want this thread to stay open so we can continue to hear rumours and news about the only real thing going on releated to the band at this moment

I knew this was coming, you guys stretch reality to a point where everything said about Hackney Diamonds becomes meaningless, you cheapen the album and sound forgetful as to just how incredible the Stones used to be when you start talking about HD in the same context as Tattoo You.

How can you make comparisons, on what level did Hackney Diamonds tracks sound anything like the 81' 82" tour when played live.

The 81" album and tour is sacrilege, show some respect for what the Stones meant to people at that time.

Bill, Charlie and Ian Stewart are gone, HD isn't The Rolling Stones is it, it's a Jagger and Watt production with a possibly dazed and confused out of his depth Keith thrown into the recording so they can package it as RS product.
It's a good album for 78 year olds at the time of it's release and Ronnie plays well on it but it's not 81"

Features of IORR 2.0? I know I see some posters and I just ignore it. I get enough of Sway's nonsense that I don't need to keep reading. I know some do that to me on specific topics as well and that is fine. Not a big deal except it pisses off BV which can lead to getting 86'd.

Back on topic here. I am fine with a new album and fine without one. For me I rarely listen to studio stuff (I listened to HD once 72 hours before it was released) and will wait and hope to hear some of it live. If that doesn't happen life goes on. In the big picture none of this changes anything about the Rolling Stones and their legacy IMHO.

If the new album has even a few tracks of the beauty of Get Close, Angry, Driving Me etc, I will be very pleased.

I like Hackney Diamonds, despite reservations about it's production. I do think it's a better album than the preceding four; though, for me, a notch below Steel Wheels. Objectively, it could be their best since Tattoo You; it's just not quite clicking.

So Hackney Diamonds isn't quite clicking with you, you don't like it's production ( you have stated this many times ) but it could be their best album since Tattoo You.

I couldn’t agree more. But are you willing to acknowledge your own culpability in debasing the quality of threads? I would love to focus on the rumors and news surrounding the greatest rock ‘n roll band in the world but every time I come upon one of your posts it’s like I’m thrust into a battlefield in a war against traditional grammar. It’s distracting as @#$%&.

It may not be intentional but you are detracting from my enjoyment of this forum (and I’m sure others feel the same). I want sentences that begin with capital letters and I want thoughts that are immaculately harnessed by the sweet brassiere of the paragraph. Is it too much to ask? Some people on this forum are regrettably incapable of coherent thought but as I trust you aren’t one of them it baffles me as to why you want to ape their writing style. Paragraphs, if you please.

i have asbergers and do to my learning disabilities i have always had trouble with writing

it's not something i do because i want to or i am able to correct

a long post takes me up to an hour or more to compose and most of that is just editing it to make it comprehenible

this is as good as i can do it and i put effort into it

i'm sorry if my posts have offended or irritated you

Even with spell check i mess up a lot, don't worry about it, your posts are much appreciated.

I agree about the cover art. Please not another variety of tongue. Given their amazing craggy faces, and sheer star quality, a close up, black and white photo, bathed in shadow, could look great.

Can't see Mick going for it though!
