I like it, nice guitar playing and tones and good job from the drummer.

And it also makes me appriciate how a Charlie played it even more. As well as Keith and Ronnies feel.

The Billy Idol version isn’t too bad. It reminds me of Liam Gallagher’s old group, Beady Eye, and their renditions; quire close in essence to the Stones’ studio version.

It's OK. I heard worse versions.

I liked it, especially the guitars.

Nothing wrong with that.

This song is so good that you'd have to really mess it up for it not to be powerful.

I don't think it's too bad, quite honestly. It certainly isn't 'good' necessarily, but it's merely a group of youngsters banging-out a Stones classic, that they're perhaps not as familiar with as they should be.

LOL I loved 'Gimme Shelter; by Grand Funk. It was one of the very first records I ever owned The 'thundering Bass stylings of Mel Schachter".
I remember hearing the Stones version for 1st time, and thinking "Oh man, they're playing it all wrong".

I quite like the Grand Funk version. I'm not a huge fan of Billy's growling voice, so there's that. The kids were great, I thought.

great band but there version of gimme shelter (to me) is really really awful

almost comically so

my fist exposure to it was my mom's old copy of caught in the act on vinyl and i'm sitting there listening to it and enjoying the record tremendously looking forward to hearing there version of gimme shelter

and well yikes!

credit to them though for trying to do there own thing with it

I like an old quote by Billy: “Robert Plant can sing & Mick Jagger can’t. But do I listen to Robert Plant? No, I listen to Mick Jagger, because he can’t sing & he sounds great.”

I enjoyed the first minute of that but I’m gonna save the rest for a very special occasion.

I have to say I was captivated by Billy’s munificent hand gestures - he’s like Apollo granting Lisa the power to sing.

It sort of sounds like Billy Idol doing Gimme Shelter, if you know what I mean.

Yeah i liked it, they're having a bash, Billy Idol is 70 this year, I'm amazed he's still here after the overdoses he had in the 80's.

Good luck to him.
