His playing was better in other tours including 1989-1990

Well, Keith's 'peak' was during that tour, in my opinion.

1981-'82 was great, though. It took me a while to warm to this live-era, but both the official releases of Leeds and Wembley are amongst my very-favourite Stones shows. Keith's extended soloing on 'Let Me Go' at Leeds was something else.

I think Keith, as a player, had his very best tours with the Winos. The second MO tour was even hotter than the first. He played like possessed. And no matter how often he talks about weaving with Ron, the real weave was with Waddy.

Agreed, Keith's playing structured the whole sound of the Stones in 81' 82' in 89" 90" he maybe had the freedom to concentrate on solos more.

Absolutely, don't know if you have the Live In Boston bootleg but his playing on How I Wish, Something Else and Gimme Shelter etc is mind blowing.

He was on fire for the US MO tour.

Something Else could be Keith's greatest moment. And the beginning of You Got Me Rocking is at the end.

They were on fire that tour. Unless I missed it I wish a live album and video release would come out. Epitome of rock'n'roll.

I just watched Glimmer Stone's You Tube channel Seattle show from the '81 tour. That should put to rest any doubt about how great the Stones were on the '81 tour. They may have been a little tired by the time they played Hampton (which is still great) but they really had it going on in October. I wish they would've played Starf... the rest of the tour because it was as good as they ever played it. The whole show has energy and focus. What a great tour!!!!
