The surviving members of Alice Cooper have come together to record their first new album in 51 years.

Cooper shared the news during a Billboard interview published Monday, revealing he had reunited with guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neal Smith to record The Revenge Of Alice Cooper, slated for release on July 25, with a feature on two songs by guitarist Glen Buxton, who died in 1997 at 49 years old.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

I LOVE the original Alice Cooper group. I don't think they get their fair due, I'm happy that the Hall Of Fame inducted ALL of them instead of just Alice, which they easily could have done, and I'm happy that they have all remained friends over the years, and with Ezrin.

I will say, their reunions in the studio have been middling over the years. They still occasionally do some live shows, and those seem like a lot of fun, but studio wise when they have contributed to Nightmare 2 and I think his next piece, its been fine. It doesn't even touch the original greatness. So it would be cool if this new album is truly great. Anything to add to that legacy and hear from them would be fantastic. I'm not holding my breath but I was excited to see Alice say they might do some guest spots with him as like an extended encore in major cities (which he has done before with the original group) since they probably couldn't do a full blown tour. But I've had a fantasy setlist in my head for what an original Alice Cooper Group reunion show would look like and if they could still play it would be a dream come true for me.

Loved hearing this news yesterday though I'm trying to temper my expectations. I should note I do wish this happened like 10 or 20 years ago as opposed to now. They're all pushing 80 now and had they done this when they were 60-65 I think they could have really toured and had a fitting farewell to that era. At this point, anything they'd have is a gift.

This is great news. I'm hoping for some great music here. Been a fan since 1972/3, I was 9 years old so the memory is foggy but I remember my Uncle telling me the new album Billion Dollar Babies was out. And got to see them in Wembley 2017, I can't describe the shock and excitement that overtook me.

Love Alice, seen him many times, got tickets for him later this year, but that first song they released seems pretty weak imo...chorus sounds like an unfinished song.

Saw the reunion shows at Wembley a few years back and this news of the new album is truely awesome!..Been a huge fan since '72..Looking forward to this follow up to Muscle Of Love immensely!!

Yeah, not a good song at all, but I'm honestly not expecting much. I'm excited that its happening, but they haven't really impressed on their previous reunions with him in the studio over the last decade. That's not meant to be a wet blanket with it, I certainly hope its good. But ultimately I'm just happy they're friends and recording, and maybe we get a live show or guest set out of it. Just feels way too late for this to actually be a great record, but hopefully I'm wrong and the single isn't a good indictator.

I enjoyed the new song. It's no classic, but I thought it was okay. Maybe I just have a lot of good will for early Alice Cooper.

I love what the Alice Cooper Group did in 1971 to 1974.
But this song is boring.

Well it’s not original band Alice Cooper radio friendly stuff like Under My Wheels lol. Vince’s voice sounds great, guest appearance by Robbie Kreiger!

Better than the 1st song.

Shocking bad, it just sounds so outdated but not in an authentic retro way. Just hopeless.

I also prefer the second song. But to be honest I've lost expectation now. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Both songs are not strong. Second one is better, but that's truly not saying much. It doesn't sound like they have any energy or enthusiasm behind it, and almost like they were all paid to just sleepwalk through this. I'll wait for the whole album, and my expectations were always gonna be tempered, but hopefully its just some unenthusiastic singles. I'm not even a fan of more recent Alice releases, but can't see why they'd do this if they weren't invested. A regular Alice album without the original band could be just as, if not more, invigorating for him.

They did look rather bored by the whole thing in the video.

If there was any friction, it was not long lasting. They've always been friendly post split, so the reunion is hardly surprising in that way. Beyond anything than them all just putting the time aside for it.

The Wild ones is classic, a great rocker with a modern twist.Black Mamba is average, but Wild ones gives me hope this will be a great album. Hopefully,as great as Hackney.

I think it was Mojo Magazine, but it might have been another one of the UK mags, anyhow they give it 3 stars. That's kind of rare for an album being advertised as being great before released. Normally it's at least 4 stars.

Just my opinion just like it is theirs. I am happy, if you like Alice I think you will like Wild Ones. Gets better every spin.

scotmw65. I hope your opinion is right. My expectations have dropped completely. In my experience whatever Mojo rates an album I usually drop at least one star. Plus the last ones by Alice have followed the same pattern. Haven't really liked a full album after "Eyes of AC". That was good from start to finish.

Just heard the album on a live listening event. Don't really like the first 3 songs much but the rest are better. This is at least a very good album in my opinion. I think a few plays will help.

I hope its as good or better than you say.

Went to the playback last night at the Union Chapel, London and was impressed with the album. It's a grower. They've obviously gone for their definitive sound, as best they can.
