Stones Skip list

*Disclaimer. This is not just a list of least favorite Stones tracks. I know BV don't like this kind of 'negative' topcics. It's a list of Stones songs that people often skip for various reasons (Heard way too often, too long, to slow, not in the mood ect..)

Here is my top 5 most skipped Stones tracks. And the reasons why.

1. (I can't get no) Satisfaction. I used to love this song. Of course it's a career defining track and most likely their biggest hit and most well known song worldwide, but I simply have heard it way, way too often. So when I play OOOH, a live album or a compilation, I always skip it.

2. YCAGWYW. It's just too long. Especially live. I love the first 3/4 minutes of it, but from the change of tempo, the song starts to get on my nerves and so I skip it from there.

3. You gotta move Sticky Fingers is my favorite Stones album. Period. But the one song I always skip is this one. I simply can't stand the way Micks 'sings' this.

4. I Just want to see his face Why is this on the album in this poor quality? It sounds like a demo (at best).

5. Miss You. Don't get me wrong, I love this track. But I got to be in the right mood to enjoy it. On live shows it's the perfect moment for me to get a beer or to take a leak.

Don't have a list.

If I feel for a single song, of course nowadays I tend to play songs that I haven't overplayed (are they any?) or songs that I want to learn how to plays.

If I feel for an album, I never skip songs.

My daughter skips Satisfaction in her Spotify list, as 'the sound quality is so bad'. I said it's 60 years old, and she replied 'that's why'.

No skips. Obviously, I like some better than others, but none are so bad I ever skip them.

Several of their songs are just too sad/melancholy for me to enjoy at this moment in my life: Moonlight Mile, Time Waits..., Let it Loose.

I love those songs, but they are just too poignant for me to listen to, and make me so sad for loves and life lost.

Just Wanna See His Face is not a standalone track. You have to listen to Ventilator Blues melt into it and the two become hypnotic.I would love to hear how long 'Face' went on with that blasphemous voodoo vibe

It depends on how you're listening to music. If you're making a Stones playlist, you'll skip most of their catalog.

However, when I'm listening to an album, I never skip a beat.

Probably just Rain Fall Down, Sweet Neo Con and Back To Zero.
Having said that I do sometimes skip Dreamy Skies and Tell Me Straight when I listen to Hackney Diamonds in the car as they both kill the party-vibe of the record.

I do not skip over much of their music, but I do skip over most of the comments on threads like this.

We all have different tastes in music, and I think my favorite bands tries their best to appeal to everyone's tastes which mean there are some things we will like and other things we do not like.

I agree some of the songs are not as appealing to me, but I don't just skip over them.

Very few tracks, to be honest; Going Home, perhaps?

Of those albums with a number of 'weaker tracks', I tend to not listen to very much.

Albums from 1986, 1989, 1994 and 2005, except for Rough Justice and Rain Falls Down, are skipped.

No need to listen to Satisfaction, PIB, YCAGWYW, SFTD, HTW, Angie, IORR or SMU.

Does no-one else skip tracks, not for their quality, but for reasons of poignance, evoking heartbreak etc?

As I mentioned above

No. Suck it up and listen. The Stones aren't Harry Chapin.

I never skip tracks when listening to a proper album (not being a compilation record). Perhaps a visit to the loo gets planned occasionally eye rolling smiley

That is not to say that I don't have a number of -often unlikely- tracks that I don't enjoy as much as the rest. Half of Dirty Work of course, half of Steel Wheels, most of Bridges To Babylon, but also a couple of classics off Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Beggars Banquet, that I'm sure most everyone will like. Except me. Maybe BV won't notice if I only give abbreviations: MR, WH, SotE, SFM, HN...

I used to skip Tops as that tune is the one I listened to when I realized I had to drag my high school sweetheart out of the adult film industry....

i don't skip songs if i'm listening to albums i listen from beginning to end

sometimes i only listen to one side of the lp or tape but i don't skip ahead and never skip tracks on a cd

sometimes i'll just choose one song on my phone to listen to off a specific album but i don't consider that skipping since i don't go into it with the intention of listing to a whole album just that one song

i do find myself often skipping the big four and some girls/tattoo you since i've listened to them to much intead i listen to there other albums more often
