Video of the Dickey Betts tribute last night, Chuck sits in quite a bit, and sings lead on Rain, just outstanding. Really good show, Duane Betts did his dad proud.

Great tribute but wonder what happened to Jaimoe since he was on the bill but was a no-show.

What a saw was a great show. Honestly made me much more excited for the Brothers reunion at MSG in a month or so. Thought it might be just ok, but this seems real ace. Or at least as good as something like this could be with the talent out there.

He was on the bill for a show I went to a few years ago and also was a no show and I never heard why.

Man I miss the Allman's Dickey Betts era, just gave them that all around rock, blues, country feel they lost some of when they separated.

I totally agree. Especially with Warren and Allen Woody. They were a killing machine live.

As someone who lived in Atlanta in the early 70s and saw the original Allman Brothers, it was hard for me to listen to them without Duane. I have come to appreciate Bett's guitar playing. But with Duane, Gregg, and Dickey gone, I don't see what is the point of a reunion.

I thought that when my friend told me the Allmans were playing MSG next month. I was like "The Allman Brothers are dead!" but I knew what he meant. It wouldn't necessarily be my bag, though this tribute for Dickey absolutely made sense and was advertised as so. I don't expect the "Allmans" reunion at MSG will sell all that well but if people enjoy it I'm not one to rain on their parade. I'm more with you it sounds like and others that I'd rather just listen to the recordings, but I get that if you have the cash and want to go out and see some great musicians playing the music its fun. I've just always been about the actual bands and their members, which is why Mick Taylor coming back meant so much to me with the Stones. Seeing the actual players from the studio is what does it for me. For others its just a fun night out, which is also perfectly valid.
