What's next for the Stones??
If it's more of the same, part of me wants them to call time on touring and studio albums of originals, personally I'd rather Mick, Keith and Ronnie make some solo albums and showcase those albums with some solo shows.
For me i don't need another Stones album that is predominantly a Mick solo album, and the Stones will be too old for Stadium shows next year.
If they do continue as a live act they need to try something different that set's their creative juices going.
Just my opinion guys judging other bands of similar age like the Who, i mean just old farts at this stage I'm sorry to say, along with the Stones they were incredibly powerful live, i just can't watch them now, so sad.

Other tidbits,
-Ronnie scheduled at Glastonbury with Rod Stewart
-Recording expected to be finished in May. Familiar studio reserved through June.
Mixing in June, album release on late November (21, 28) or early December (5) to cash in during the Christmas season.
They have the new album almost in the can from early 2023, plus 2-3 other songs with Charlie from 2019 and I'm sure that Mick wrote at lesst 3-4 more good songs during the last 2 years.
They have 20 new songs there, with another standard album of 11-12 songs this year, there still more than 50% of a THIRD new record in 2027-28.
A handful of shows in late November just in time for the album release and an European Tour in May 2026 is a good bet if everything goes right.
Good lord, that's awesome! I cannot afford the 50 variations of each release this time, though so just a black vinyl, a cd, and maybe a blu ray audio...PLEASE!
Perhaps this time they'll team up with England's Premier League, so it's only 20 variations.

Georgelicks--is that from insider knowledge or an educated guess?
A mix of both, Universal is ready to promote a new Stones album by late 2025.
If all goes well it is a probable plan, if the album is finished by July it is a minimum of 4 months for the manufacturing of the vinyl so a release in the last week of November or the first of December is perfect to take advantage of the Christmas season and sell the biggest number of units during the pre-sale and in those 3-4 weeks, wasting that market and releasing the album in April/May 2026 is losing at least 50% of what the album could sell.
One or two indoor shows right around the album release are a real possibility, as was the Racket show.
A 2026 tour is also in the plans, but that's the hardest part right now. There's a year to go before then, and anything can happen in a year. The album is something much more concrete and almost certainly on the horizon within six months.
UMG's biggest issue was not releasing a (fourth) single just prior to the 2024 tour. UMG's 18 month plan turned out to be a bust: with a new single they could've done more in regard to sales for HD yet alone streaming, which is an aside regardless, but, you know, numbers.
Instead they focused on various vinyl issues. Name/star recognition is not enough. That already failed with HONK.

And to paraphrase Chevy Chase - when I joined this forum, I was told there would be no math.
Thank you for not saying "maths", which makes zero sense!!! That is 100% stupid.

Honestly what's the purpose of a single after the album is released? It makes more sense if they release them as a teaser like they did with Angry and Sweet Sounds. Especially If they don't bother at all with the music video...

Visiting the US legally and obeying laws isn't as safe as some people think since people that do so (have been) are being or have been sent away.
That's an undeniable fact. Believe the hype.

I could be persuaded with a good, real example please. Educate me.

They should have had the cameras running at the Gaga/Stevie recording session and released an edit of that as the video. That would have been fantastic.
A lyric video was lame for this. No one is going to watch a lyric video over and over again.

they did i've seen a short clip of it somewhere
they seemed to have filmed a good portion of the sessions for a documentary on the making of the album

OK great...so they have absolutely no excuse to not have done a proper video release for such a high profile, or potentially high profile release. Stones, Stevie and Lady Gaga. That's marquee.

Every new release has a team working on its promotion and a budget for it. no label is going to throw money away, no matter who you are and with Hackney Diamonds the entire budget was provided upfront, Universal knew that the album would remain in the charts for two months due to demand during the holiday season, and that nothing could be done after that, radio wouldn't play any new singles, only the first one out of curiosity, as happened with Angry.
I don't know where the 18-month phrase came from or why it was published in that article.
It's ridiculous to make an 18-month plan for a legacy act.
It's not 1978, 1981, 1989 or even 2005 anymore.
