Yeah, wonder this guy's "sources" are...

StonesDoug's original post last month said simply "Stones are in the studio right now". [www.tapatalk.com]

Speculation here was that the studio was in LA.

StonesDoug's update last week said "They were at Hit Factory in NYC rehearsing for a private party they played ." [www.tapatalk.com]

Wherever the purported recording/rehearsing took place, Ronnie likely wasn't there. He's been photographed at a few different events in London in recent weeks.

There wasn't a private party. No one actually knows about LA.

Keith was in the Hit Factory last December, recording for a Clifton Chenier tribute album .

And you could hear Mick singing " Hippy cha yooo " in insta story by CC Adcock, recording ,also in the Hit Factory

To honor the legacy of Clifton Chenier – AKA The Kingof Zydeco – on what would have been his 100th birthday, we’ve gathered an all-star cast of Louisiana musicians as well as artists from around the country to honor Clifton’s influence and his uncanny ability to unite traditionalists, rock ‘n’ rollers and Louisiana with the rest of the world. We hope you enjoy our tribute to the undisputed King of Zydeco, recorded in Lafayette, Louisiana where even the “crawfish got soul! A sampling of the artists featured in this tribute: » The Rolling Stones » Steve Earle » Lucinda Williams » Jimmie Vaughan » Taj Mahal » CJ Chenier » John Hiatt » John Cleary » Los Texmaniacs » Geno Delafose » Steve Riley » Marcia Ball » And more!
This title will be released on June 27, 2025.

So, is anyone thinking that them being in the studio was solely to do this tribute song and they aren't actually working on new Stones material?

The snippet sounds great. And I loved the New Orleans Let it Bleed mash up with Dwayne Dopsie. Maybe that could be the B side...

It's crawfish season and damn, that's a really interesting tribute. I will be looking for it or ordering! It's from my home state! I know people that have recorded at Dockside.

Thanks for the notification!

It's getting close to May.

Nothing from the Stones.

That's quite normal if you think pre-internet: they just disappeared.

Perhaps we should get back to not caring and just go 'Oh' when something happens.

Running through what I can remember. Years of nothing yet a little something - 1979, 1984, 1993 (all hits comps).

Was the last year of absolutely zero 2009? No live album, no hits comp, no archive, no new. Prior to that was 1992 I think.

2025 may have zero. That's probably ridiculous to think but so far... not including the 18th edition of HACKNEY DIAMONDS, either.

I'll probably have a look later to see but in their 300 years it seems there's been just a couple years of nothing at all.

2009 they released the deluxe version of ya-ya's and gimme shelter was re-released with the footage of mick playing a very early version of brown sugar to ike and tina turner

Funny, I thought a lot about the same topic yesterday and for 2009 and 1992 I had to look online If there was anything. But as already mentioned in 2009 there was the Ya Yas Release and in 1992 it was Live at the max which was released to IMAX cinemas (although it had its premier in 1991). So I don't think there was any year in the history without any release or a Tour.
