Yes, this was recorded that day for ABC-TV's Shindig but it was unaired, according to the always excellent Nico's website.

On any case, it's always refreshing to watch something new from those days (at least for most of us), that even though it's mimed, as it was a common practice then, I thought this deserved its own thread. smiling smiley

Thank you for sharing.

I would be interested to know how many of these ‘U.S.’ television appearances were, in fact, filmed in England.

Always one of my favourites....so happy to see this. Thanks for posting.

I'll always remember the jaw-dropping moment in Glasgow when they played this live.

I think somebody on this forum posted fragments of I've Been Loving You Too Long. This was years ago. Members of the Stones wore the same clothes as in the Satisfaction clip.

IBLYTL was only one hour on YT. The uploader presented the 3 versions on a green mini screen, which was turned to one side. I gladly downloaded it and posted this resized version on IORR. He also presented a rare Beatles clip, which I didn't download and never posted it again. All of this is surely in RITY archive now.

I've seen these high-quality videos once before. There is also the video with an alternate backing track of Play With Fire and Satisfaction with Brian doing a harmonica solo. There were also two takes of some of these videos/songs.

Thanks everyone for sharing.

I don't think Mick's vocals were mature enough to handle That's How Strong My Love Is in 1965. But he is killer in 2005 at the Olympia in Paris on Four Flicks.

Indeed!

There are actually (at least) two compilation CD's around that have the originals of songs covered by The Rolling Stones. (Oddly this one is not on either).

They are:
Stones Alchemy (https://www.discogs.com/master/549966-Various-Stoned-Alchemy)
Real Stones (https://www.discogs.com/master/103298-Various-Real-Stones)

No sensible way to suggest which is the better compilation. :-)

I'd suggest that anyone interested in the musical origin of The Rolling Stones should own and regularly listen to one or the other of these compilations!
