Lovely article. Feels very genuine feelings from Keith

He's telling so many details about their relationship that it really feels like genuine feelings. Gold rings on Keith!

I think this will be very interesting for those in NY and around:

Something Better: A Tribute To Marianne Faithfull

Featuring: Stephin Merritt, Eszter Balint, Joanna Sternburg, Fiona McBain, Tammy Faye Starlight, Victoria Williams, Vanisha Gould, Ben Fields, Binky Griptit, and more!.

Date and Time:

Tue Mar 4 at 8:00 PM / 6:00 PM Doors

City Winery NYC presents Something Better: A Tribute to Marianne Faithfull live on Tuesday, March 4th at 8 PM

Featuring: Stephin Merritt, Eszter Balint, Joanna Sternburg, Fiona McBain, Tammy Faye Starlight, Victoria Williams, Vanisha Gould, Ben Fields, Binky Griptit, and more!

Lineup is subject to change.

J.C. Hopkins and an ensemble of fabulous musicians and singers will be the house band for a tribute to the late great Marianne Faithful at City Winery. Grammy nominated JC Hopkins has composed songs for Norah Jones and Willie Nelson and his band has performed with the likes of Elvis Costello, Madeleine Peyroux and other luminaries of the modern music world. Drawing from Faithful’s great body of work the night will celebrate her music from the 1960’s British Invasion, to her later work.

RIP Marianne. Among other wonderful things, she belongs essentially to the story of The Rolling Stones.

- Doxa

As this thread is lifted up again, I want to add, others may already have said as much:

True enough!

But even then, Doxa, when I heard the song "Broken English" the first time on the radio, I got immediately caught, listened, wondering who might this possibly be, then was told, this is Marianne Faithfull! That was to me a great joy! From then on, to me she made a career of her own, outside the Rolling Stones, independent of the Rolling Stones! A triumph for Marianne!

It looks like some rarities from Marianne (as well as some tracks from Mick's sessions with PP Arnold) may be released in the near future.

Has anyone read Faithfull? I'm almost at the end. She was very bright and wrote well. There were some surprises and it was fascinating to hear the story from a major insider's point of view. If you had read, it please share your opinion about the content. Anyone know about Mick's view on this particular book?

Personally I love the book.

I suspect Mick hated having his private life on display in such a public way, especially intimate stuff

I would think so too.

It's a pity she didn't sing with the Stones at the Enmore in 2003...which was rumoured to happen

I enjoyed it. Her book was quite entertaining but not necessarily legit source of information. She was known to often contradict herself.

Don't you think she would have been "challenged" for information that wasn't true?
