BV:

Thank you for all the work on the tour information and hosting IORR.Hopefully they are not done, but at this age any show we may get in the future is a gift.

I wake up every day and read IORR. Not just during rumored or actual tours but to see the IORR community comments.

Thank you for your efforts.

Great news from one of your operators: the tour is postponed, not deleted.
Sorry for not stating which tour operator is, due to privacy.

I need some like this for my Emotional Rescue now.

I hope that is true. and that planning was the main issue.

That's the big question. Cancelled or postponed?

BV writes: "Tour will not go on as planned". If it was cancelled completely, he would wrote it that way. Maybe it's just me, wishful thinking, but I have hopes it will only be postponed

The Rolling Stones have kept me going for all these years, and with running IORR since 1980. I seek comfort and joy through my RS playlist, spanning almost 60 years of music by The Rolling Stones, from their very first album, to so far their last album.

We all get older. There is no panic, still from 2012 and on, we have got The Rolling Stones on overtime, I think.

We do always dream about one more tour, and sure they will, as long as they can. Just one more album, and one more tour, that is all I hope for.

Nothing has been officially announced. Nothing is canceled. The fact is that the plans for a tour did not work as per now. The r3st is for the future to tell. It is as simple as that.

Thank you Bjornulf for all the hard work, and letting us be informed about the new tour.
I hope they will come back and the tour is postponed and not cancelled, but you never know at this time.

They last posted on their official FB page yesterday the video for 'Hang Fire'. Hidden message perhaps?

Have hope! winking smiley
Maybe logistics issues and they will postpone until end of Sommer or Autumn. Or new album first...Anyways let's see.

This thread is in danger of becoming one big huge rumour mill in its own right ! Perfectly understandable of course, as the last we heard from the ever reliable BV when the tour was supposedly on was that the official RS announcement would likely be in February. So people's disappointment with the news that it's off is hardly surprising.

But now that we know, what to do but simply wish them all well, express hope that no-one's been taken ill, and that although we might not be seeing them this year, we might nevertheless be hearing from them ? New album to follow on from HD, or more from the vaults perhaps ?

Time will tell !

1. Thanks BV for the labour of love, your hard work meant I had like 5 refundable hotels booked before price increases etc, really do appreciate the effort you put in

2. Let’s hope this is not health related

3. If it isn’t, fingers crossed for a 2017 autumn no filter style pattern of warm country stadiums and cold country stadiums with roofs

Anyway, fingers crossed

I don't want to jinx anything but as there are a lot of bands in Europe that our boys have influenced directly (Oasis, Bruce, G N Rs and AC/DC) touring Europe this summer it is fair to say that the competition for the regular rock concert goers is extremely high. I myself planned to see Stones, AC/DC and maybe Axl and Co as well as having tickets for Oasis. I pray that this is the reason and nothing else.

Keep the Faith

No AC/DC European tour has been announced yet. I know there have been rumors about one.

Ahh nice one Topi! I've just been concentrating on our lads since the rumours started. Please let them tour in the autumn just like 2017. Autumn tours are the best anyway smileys with beer

Yes, nothing confirmed yet for AC/DC.
This Stones news saddens me, I hope it's not a health problem making it impossible for one of the 3 to tour.

I appreciate you, all you do for us, the fans, and I value the contributions of those on IORR. Like you said, the Stones have kept me going for as long as I can remember. Here's hoping things work out so we get to see them live on stage again.

Given how much apparent planning has gone in, and and how close they were to an announcement according to insiders, it is quite a shock to see this, this morning.

I do hope it isn't health-related and that we get a relatively mundane explanation later and a reschedule.

Thanks to BV and everyone that's been able to share through their sources.

Whatever happened - remember our boys are tough!

Tours did not happen as planned in 2014 (death of L‘Wren), 2017 (Ronnie’s lung cancer), 2019 (Mick‘s heart valve operation), 2020 (Covid), 2023 (Micks leg issue (allegedly) or maybe it was just the delay in vinyl production - do we know for sure in the meantime?)

Thanks for the update Bjornulf!

I agree with you that since 2012, we've been extremely lucky to have seen the Stones on their "overtime" tours.

I admire your dedication to the Rolling Stones...we are very fortunate to have you as our 'leader', providing us with 20 years of excellent information involving over 11,000 posts!!!

What a wonderful journey this has been!

It can't be a surprise. Mick and Keith are 81. Their tours are huge undertakings. It doesn't have to be a specific illness, at some point it will just be the ability to be healthy enough to handle it.

I loved seeing them last year(for the 25th time since '81) but there was no doubt that Mick was showing his age foe the first time at any show I'd been to. He let the backup singers take in a bigger load and at times was shouting instead of singing. I was still blown away by his energy (especially when compared to Joe Biden who had just had his death knell debate at the same age), but I've accepted it was probably my last show.

I've always said I'll go see them when it's just Mick and Keith sitting on stools at Carnegie Hall. Maybe it's time to shift focus to smaller easier shows.
