This makes the most sense to me. The Stones are lucky they can put the kibosh on a bad tour schedule. Other bands dont have that luxury.

Very interesting announcement just came out. Beyonce is performing at the Tottenham stadium in June around the same time the Stones were due to and for four nights. Might be no connection but it’s weird timing. Do you think they told the Stones they wanted her instead?
Well, it's hyper speculation, but, if we're going there and you're a business person what would you do?
I don't know on person that would see The Stones that would go see Beyonce.

After reading through all these posts, I think the best idea is to play multiple shows in London and let everyone travel to them. It will sell out because of the many devoted fans worldwide - and its less wear and tear on the band and crew. It's a win-win for everyone. And if 10-14 is too much, 5-6 will do! But if it's not because of logistics this point is moot.

...Logical route is do a residency somewhere and let people come to them rather than just hoping they can get the schedule they want next year.
They owe us nothing or course! We're in bonus time.

This will be the right place for the STONES. Better sounding "Open air" as "echo" arenas.

But such an open-air area is a flat field, mostly standing only. Maybe good for those who just wanna listen to the Stones and watching them at home on DVD/BR instead.

The Stones would probably have a seated front anyway and extra stands in the back and sides. Think of Hamburg 2017 for example

Wow. Really nice. Let's make it a really nice August thing in 2025 or summer 2026.

I was thinking... with all this free time... maybe Mick will finish writing his autobiography he started in the 80s? He said at the time that he might finish it when he was much older... older even than Buddy Holly..

The Stones are a touring band, not a residency band. I don't see them doing a residency. I'm sure if they want to tour, they're looking for the earliest opportunity to do so. I think they are wise enough to know that at this stage in their lives you don't just say "we'll just tour next year"...

The challeneges the Stones face setting up tours are quite extensive
-Core members must be healthy
-Guaranteed money paid up front
-Insuarance sign off (including multiple doctors traveling with band)
-14 to 20 shows with very specific rest time in between (this is the big one which is very hard in Europe)
-Venue availability that coincides with above point
-All of the above has to work for everyone involved

For what it’s worth. Matt Clifford wrote on Instagram „Looking forward to be meeting up with the band again soon“
So they must be doing something. If they don’t tour then that probably means studio time!

They don't need to meet until one month before a Tour so it must be studio time. I still think the "tour off" decision was to finish the next album.
