You can't say for sure it's over but i hear you and it's disappointing they cancelled this summer tour because allegedly they needed more profit.
That to me is sad.
They can't be expected to eat the cost either. They have bills too. The principals can't be expected to take home less money than the person who owns the parking lot.

+1. And if the Stones were solely motivated by money, they would just keep playing the USA. That's where the wealth is. The EU/UK is much poorer, less productive and more regulated. Their willingness to try to make it work should be applauded not sneered at.

Maybe it’s about time for Team Stones to consider residencies in fewer locations, e.g. London, Amsterdam, Paris, Munich and Rome, 2-3 shows each.

Yes, very sensible. Anywhere but Vegas of course.

A residencie at a plush all-inclusive resort in Mexico would be great!
5 days - the Stones play the first and last night. (they get their 4 day rest)
Have different bands play on the off nights with a couple of sit-ins from Ronnie or Keef and/or other members of the band.
Its nice to dream...

This would be Mick's worst nightmare.

This information comes from one of the promoters of the shows in Spain: the cancellation of the tour is 100% due to a logistical issue, problems with the shows in Spain and with only 3 shows in 21 days at the end of the tour in July, the costs were high with so many days off, the final numbers were made and the Stones canceled everything when they saw that the profit margin was small for all the work that the tour involved.
They are going to try to put something before the end of the year, maybe even fewer shows but Mick is not very motivated by not playing in stadiums so we will see in April or May if they can close something shorter for the fall of 2025.

Of course they are motivated by money. To think otherwise is insane.

I think that level of greed is insane, especially when they already have hundreds of millions of pounds.
It's kind of off putting, when is enough enough at age 81.

I think it makes perfect sense, if you're 80+ you probably need some damn good motivation to do all that work. A tour is a lot of effort, and if they can stay at home with family or work on an album with less travel with similar moneytary results then it probably makes more sense to not tour.
Of course it's heartbreaking for someone like me who was really dreaming about getting to see them for the first time

In that case it's time for Keith to get the Wino's back on the road.
Are you trying to kill the guy?
Keith's in a lot better shape than Bob Dylan and Dylan was fantastic last year on tour.

The last show Keith performed alone for more than 1 hour was in 1993.... 32 years ago!
Dylan does 80-90 shows a year, he is in much better shape and rhythm, I doubt Keith can lead a band at this age for more than 15-20 minutes, which is how long his set with the Stones lasts.

Mick's worst nightmare, playing for an audience mostly over 60 that is on vacation at a resort, worse than Las Vegas.
One of the reasons why the Stones have only toured in stadiums in recent years is to prevent the entire audience from being so old, in a stadium more young people can see them and mix a little bit the ageing audience.
Mick is not going to accept residencies or shows in small places where only the most die hard fans go, he rather stays at home.

Bob is terrible on his legs now, when i saw him last year he could hardly walk, but still,, mostly at the piano he was great, vocally and on harmonica.
Keith performs with ease for 2 hours with the Stones, with the help of another vocalist to take the lead on some tracks Keith could perform for 90 minutes with the Winos.
Let's face it Keith can do a lot of ballads and people will still go home happy.
If he gets bored and wants to do some solo shows I'm sure he can still do it, he's looking fitter lately too.
