Yep, must admit that my son's love of the band was largely inherited from me.

Thanks, BigAl and Spud.

It does seem that the younger generations are showing up in droves, of late.

Less talk by all ages of "Are they still around?"

I feel like they've reached that time now that people are really impressed by how perennial they are. I sure admire it.

That's not my experience of live concerts. The lion's share of the audience are middle aged and older. Most of "the young people" seem to be accompanying their parents (or bosses).
I don't get the feeling that The Rolling Stones is considered a "cool" band among younger people either (except for the t-shirts maybe, mostly worn by girls).

Who the heck goes to a concert with their boss?

I mean company people, Glimmerest. People who don't pay for their tickets.

Ah ok. Damn, no company I or my family members have ever worked for have ever sent anyone to a concert.

To be fair if I got free Stones tickets I'd probably stick around at a company for a while.

I see. Sure, they have a young audience too. The question is how big it is and how you define "young" I guess.

I'm 27, so maybe I'm on the cusp of "old" in rock n roll years haha

Back in the good old days the ideal age for a rock star was younger that your parents but older than your elder brother (or also sister, maybe).

Considering the Stones' present age this would result in the better part of the audience being in their 60s or early 70s. Judging from the more recent shows that I saw, this might be quite accurate. winking smiley
