What was new to me is that we knew Dan Schaffer was with the Stones on the 1975 tour. We assumed that was to work with them on the wireless systems. But he was not with the Stones for this reason at all. I also thought that the Stones were experimenting with wireless for guitar on the 1975 and 1976 tours, but this does not seem to be the case.

I don't remember them using wireless equipment until the '78 tour. Maybe there were little experiments around the edges previously. What about the '76 tour? Or was it only Mick fiddling around with a wireless microphone, but the guitarists didn't go that way until later?

I did a check on Getty images, and it appears they never used wireless for guitar on the 1975 and 1976 tour. Only Jagger used the wireless microphone.

Anybody remember that ludicrously long lead Ronnie had at knebworth, allowing him to wander to the end of that wide stage extension...with a crew member following him to pay it out and make sure it didn't get all tangled up !

Or the ten minutes it always took Quo's road crew to untangle that massive knot of leads before the encore grinning smiley
