For me it would be a comprehensive box of all 60s studio outtakes. This just seems amazing to me that while The Beatles, The Who and every other Tom, Dick and Harry Band from the 60s have these amazing boxed sets from that period, but The Greatest Rock and Roll Band to ever exist and Abkco cannot agree on terms to get this stuff out. There are some fantastic Chess Studios outtakes, ealy 1963 demos, alternative versions, instrumentals, etc.. - Seems like a no-brainer to me, how much longer do they think their audience will be alive LOL

I agree with what you say but I don't think it is only, or at all, ABKCO to blame for who "cannot agree on terms to get this stuff out'. It is the other party - The Stones - that is the problem there. But history taken, I do understand their attitude, although it costs money for them (but not that much, really). That's the price for pride I guess. But showing a middle finger for Klein people must feel good... Right, Mick and Keith?

But we hardcore fans are the only true losers here, unfortunately. Yeah, go to listen to some 'vaults' live release from the late 90's - ages after their true relevance and historical significance - and be happy, oh yeah..

allen klein has been dead for 15 years and mick and keith are in there eighties

that's one hell of a grudge there holding

i get that they're maybe thinking there may not be as much money in there earliest recordings

but let it bleed and beggars (to a lesser extent) were and are gigantic albums with humongous living fan bases deluxe versions of those albums packaged with unreleased studio outtakes and live material would definitely sell well (at least as well as anything does nowadays)

do we need to start some kind of petition like sighunt's one to get the msg 69 shows released to let them know that we want stuff like a real deluxe let it bleed?

Well, personally I think they are making a helluva mistake for their legacy in neglecting all those formative years when they were young and hungry and conquered the world. There is a wonderful story and musical adventure there to contrast the image they've been promoting now for ages, and which, I am afraid, do not age or resonate with new generations that well any longer. But yeah, as long as they keep touring and are making incredible sums of money I understand that they don't really mind.

It is not just LET IT BLEED and BEGGARS BANQUET, hailed masterpieces by old school rock press, but albums like AFTERMATH and BETWEEN THE BUTTONS, not to forget THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES that offer unique musical adventures and freshness that I think would work pretty well to fresh ears nowadays, like The Beatles stuff from those days does (and I am pretty sure none of their latter day albums ever will do). But they are like totally forgotten now. It's just HOT ROCKS an that's it as far as those years go.

But I think The Stones missed that bus long ago. Like The 60's when they breathed relevance never happened. Mostly intentionally I think. To survive.

yes i'd love to see them give the deluxe treatment to between the buttons and aftermath (satanic i don't know if i need considering we already have 7 discs of outtakes in great sound quality)

but we call beggars, let it bleed, sticky fingers and exile the big four for a reason

they are (along with some girls and tattoo you) the albums most casual and younger newer fans are most likely to know and own and those groups are the ones that make the band the most money

i gotta assume that they know this and clearly there issues with klein aren't whats holding this up or the deluxe ya-ya's wouldn't have happened

i suspect your right in what you seem to be implying that maybe there saving this for after they stop touring (or maybe after there gone) so that they have something big from the archives left to release

Studio version of Red House, 1970. In honor of Jimi Hendrix, I'm sure.

Wild Horses and Can't You Hear Me Knocking, live 1971

Key to the Highway with Eric Clapton, live 1976

Same for me.

I would add Double door 1997 and some unknown outtakes from the seventies without overdubs from Jagger but in fact most of my dreams came through already

I also would like the other Paradiso show to be released, but... didn't they mentioned a long time ago that this show had all kinds of sound problems in the audio recordings? So maybe this one will never be released?

That’s a reasonable point, regarding ‘sound problems’ In retrospect, it does seem odd that it wasn’t released, considering the effort was made to release the other shows.

I wonder how many of those "Holy Grails" mentioned here are like, 'well,I haven't heard that one, so it will be nice to hear it'. And once it is heard, the mystery is gone, and that's it, no need to go back again. Next 'Holy Grail', thank you.

Surely I want to hear Echoplex and Taylor in "Love In Vain" (right?), but a 'Holy Grail'? Hell not. My personal hopes and wishes go much higher than that. This band has soooo much more to offer (in a theory).

Acomplete filmed concert with Taylor from1972 or1973, or a great sounding show from 1972 would be a lot more of a holy grail. Also a great sounding show concert from 1966-1967.And their1968 performances live at theNewMusic Express? ,awards show.

The "never released 1972 tour live album" comes to mind as a Holy Grail...
