Too bad we didn't get a full Paris show on Blu-Ray but Les Abattoirs TV broadcast is still excellent.

The sound mix is outstanding.

Unfortunately, the word "Hot" was missing from the 2:50 mark on "Hot Stuff" on all physical discs.

Out of curiosity: has someone tried to contact Universal Music to get replacement discs? In Japan there's a contact form: [Support.Universal-Music.co.jp] .

So do the Japanese CDs include the dropped “Hot?”

No, the 'Hot' is also missing on the Japanese releases - [iorr.org] .

Me - no. I did not order Japanese edition. I contacted uDiscoverMusic and got no answer yet.

I listened carefully but the "Hot" around 2.50 min. is also missing on the Japanese cd SHM-version.

Doesn't matter.

The remix is fantastic.

Line up the vinyl then the remix... it's astounding.

Whoever decided it was a great idea to remix BLACK AND BLUE should be commended. Originally I was horrified - the album sounds perfect as it is.

Well what do I know.

The remix of GOATS HEAD SOUP sounds incredible.

I like the difference. And, aside from the screw up with the "hot" missing in Hot Stuff, the differences between the original mix and the remix is nothing redefining - it's subtle.

That's really nice. Nothing was severely changed. And thank whoever nothing was modernized. There's an integrity required with remixing these classic albums. What Giles Martin did with The Beatles is, to me, fantastic.

Just an excuse to get people to buy the album again? I don't think so. If I'm wrong, OK, but a majority of listeners are streaming. I bought the CDs of The Beatles - and Stones - and listen to streaming. Perhaps one day I will get the vinyl editions.

I have appreciated and enjoyed the vinyl release of ROUNDHAY PARK and finding the Atlantic Records issue of BLACK AND BLUE and Virgin VOODOO LOUNGE.

In regard to the Stones having albums remixed - those two are all that has happened so far. Maybe there will be a remix of... the rest of the 1970s albums, maybe some others later although I can't figure a reason why, someday but until then, mess with your EQ and go from there.

Yes, possibly the worst sounding official live release next to Copacabana (A bigger bang live) and Voodoo Lounge Uncut.

Hot Stuff with the missing Hot is still beyond me angry smiley.I could not believe no one has checked the masters before the release.I've sent a message to Universal some weeks ago, asking them if they plan to offer a corrected digital release, and got no answers since then.
Not sure if a petition will be allowed here and if it will work better.confused smiley

All digital/streaming platforms have a corrected Hot Stuff.

It's extremely unlikely any hard copies, vinyl or digital, will be replaced.

They've certainly been uninvolved with a few things. LIVE LICKS is one, with the horrible editing and the very poor artwork but FOUR FLICKS was excellent. THE BIGGEST BANG apparently didn't involve any creative people with its creation it's so bad.

The video singles... the last one that featured the band in it was Doom And Gloom, and prior to that, Rain Fall Down. I know they're "in" Hate To See You Go and Living In A Ghost Town but that's studio footage.

It is strange they haven't said anything about the 2025 reissue.

Honestman, you can be as pissed off as you want but in the big picture, the missing "hot" in Hot Stuff is nowhere near as bad as

THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST
DIRTY WORK
A few songs on VOODOO
A few songs on BRIDGES
Keys To Your Love and the other one that isn't Don't Stop and Losing My Touch
Rocks Off on LIVE LICKS
A few on A BIGGER BANG
THE BIGGEST BANG video box set
SHINE A LIGHT in general

Compare to the Beatles, the Kinks or the Who, it seems that there's always something missing or wrong with the Stones releases...
(I Can't Get No Satisfaction) yes !

The two you mention are not in the light to heavy disaster category of that list.

Listening to the GHS 2020 remix more lately as well.

Having those two and seven of eight by The Beatles, it's obviously not a money grab because of the work into the art, obviously the remixing, and finding various whatever from the time for the deluxes.

Does SF, EOMS, SG and TY need to be remixed? I don't think so.

Would I enjoy listening to a remix of those? Yes.

Do the rest need to be remixed? At this point, why not, but would "the rest", as in post-TY, happen and what are "the rest"? The last release by Rolling Stones Records, which was hardly ever printed on the back sleeve, it's Promotone, was the live Jumpin' Jack Flash single with the two imax tracks, so album wise, FLASHPOINT, which really means DW and SW.

Since being given the double CD by a fine nephew for Christmas, I've found myself listening to the jams quite a lot, especially while I'm cooking - and they're great when you're doing something haha. Some really nice bits in them. And the new mix is brilliant, so much more to be found in the lead and backing vocals, and musical details. But still, the missing HOT and the fact that they FADE IN Hey Negrita rather than slamming it on the table at full tilt, are serious flaws.

Serious flaws, indeed. This is the first deluxe I've skipped, though maybe a nephew will get it for me too and I can skip "Hot Stuff" and "Hey Negrita" cool smiley

Do you mean that the releases on your list also contain factory/mastering/editing errors similar to "hot" being edited out in the Deluxe Edition?

No. I think GasLightStreet simply posted a long list of Rolling Stones material he dislikes. In his view, much of this material is not merely weak, but fundamentally inferior (possibly even embarrassing) within the Stones catalogue. The absence of a single word 'hot' barely measures as an offense. This is nowhere near the capital crime. It doesn’t even make the top ten.

PS. The edit of Rocks Off on LIVE LICKS is beyond good and evil.

Got my Deluxe box yesterday- small price drop on Amazon - so wound up $125 with tax. Not going to give a full review (still digging in), but I had posted about ‘do I need this, or should I save myself $100 and just get ‘most of it’ on ITunes?’ Can now say, I’m glad I sprung for it. The Paris video is terrific and the BluRay in general (especially if you have a good set up) makes it worth the $ IMO. Whatever quibbles or issues aside, it’s a great addition to my collection.
Two quick notes though - You Got to Move might be the highlight for me of the Paris show. I forget, other than Sticky Fingers at the Fonda, have they done that in the past few years?
And, one of the previously unknown thrills for me, is as Crazy Mama winds down and as the album ends, the Bill Wyman bass at the end of the song, which I never much heard or paid attention to - goosebumps. Damn, he was great.

If you are correct, then I just do not get it... Why do I or others need to be reminded (in a Black And Blue thread) what one person dislikes? Who cares?

Why does anyone feel entitled to come and give a list of his least favourite albums from The Stones?

Talk about Black And Blue (which now -- with the missing "hot" -- should be renamed 'Blak And Blu') here. And please do not start an argument about which Stones albums are or should be disliked! And why this grumpiness about less liked albums?

There is always someone who will like/love your most hated album.

I just cannot understand people feeling good about spreading all this negativity...

@GasLightStreet
My point here was just to try to tell that when you buy stuff and I'm collecting the Stones since the mid 70s, you could expect more from an official release quality wise specially in 2025, the fact that no one has noticed the mistake before says it all ! End of discussion my side...
