I might prefer LA Friday too but id say Earls Court takes the win over El Mocambo.Quote

I'm still on the fence about that. The inclusion of the BAB-songs, and how they were played + the SFTD-version, might make me prefer this show. I need to listen more.
I certainly didn't expect a show of this quality after hearing the 1976-bootlegs, so we should be happy we got this.

Maybe the biggest surprise to me is how good the Paris video actually is now we can hear it in excellent quality from the BluRay. I think it's better than Earls Court.

I think they could still pull off Hand Of Fate - it's fairly straightforward musically, and the tempo is kinda ploddy.

On CD it appeared as disc 45 in The Singles 1971-2006 box.
I actually think El Mocambo is way better. On Earls Court I like Wood’s playing on everything except,JJFlash, SFM and SFTD.Whereas I like everything on LA Friday and El Mocambo.I just think the 1975 tour was better than1976.Would like to hear Toronto 1975 officially released in same quality as Earl’s CourtQuote

Ive had the Earls Court bootleg from May 22th and this official release blows that bootleg under the water. (the official release is a compilation of the May 23, 25, 26, 27th shows. Mostly taken from the 27th.

I found an extremely well preserved Atlantic Records BLACK AND BLUE today, as well as ROUNDHAY PARK and the CBS original SOME GIRLS CD.
I listened to the 2025 Hot Stuff and then the original - aside from the volume difference, the 2025 is just a bit more clear.
Which is still a bit throttling considering how perfect the original mix/sound is.

i also went to the record store today and bought the cbs black and blue, a west german hot rocks 2 and ronnie's i got my own album to do on cd
plus the two record set of black and blue and i have a near mint copy of the original us pressing (i bought it sealed 15 years ago)
i'll do a comparision too tommorow
but in the meantime i'm very confused by the lyrics of hey negrita as printed in this set
i've always clearly heard and assumed the line was
"i'm gonna cut your balls boy
gonna tan your hide"
which makes sense in context with the rest of the lyrics
but what the hell does this mean?
"i'm gonna call ya boss boy
gonna tan your hide"
am i just ill informed and crazy and everyone has always heard what mick sings as that or did they screw up the lyrics when they printed them?
either way i prefer the first version to the second since the second is just dumb

The line in question is said by the whore IMHO.
I hear IMHO:
"I'm gonna get ya by the balls, I'm gonna tell you as it is."
I don't hear the word 'hide' in the song.
Mick Jagger Breaks Down ‘Black and Blue’
by Chet Flippo
“Hey Negrita” (Munich, April 2nd, 1975):
“I hate telling about it. If I tell you what the song is about, will you put it in your own words?”
Okay: it’s about a South American whore, and the singer, a poor man, is trying to get her price down. “One last dollar / I’ve got my pride / I’ll cut your balls, and I’ll tan your hide.”
“A very deep subject, eh?” It kind of has a disco sound, but at times it sounds like Bill and Charlie want to play something different.
“Well, they’re not the best dancers in the world. Charlie’s not bad. It’s kind of half Caribbean rhythm and half not. It’s kind of a strange lick but it is kind of danceable. I think that was written in the studio.”

Are there any updated on Japanese SHM Superdeluxe? What mix/mastering was sued for Hot Stuff? It is 'hot' or 'hot-less'?
Same here. It is ~170€ after S&H+VAT. But I can not believe that version was not checked yet.Quote

Can’t help with your question, but after getting another email from CDJapan, I put it in my Cart, but then saw the S&H now adds another $40 (@ least) - not spending $170+ for it.

When they released the other deluxe editions (Tattoo You, Some Girls, Exile etc) disc 2 was the one I had on repeat for weeks. All those great new songs, I was thrilled.. But with Black and Blue Deluxe it's the other way around. I'm re-discovering B&B and I really love the new mix. But the new songs/jams.. I really like Shame Shame Shame, but like 'Jamming with Edward' I listened to the jams once and I don't feel the need to listen to them again in the near future..
Overall conclusion: I love the new B&B mix, but the bonus disc is somewhat disappointing.

Because of listening to the first two singles on YouTube when the 2 disc set showed up before the deluxe box I listened to the jams. No need to listen to them a second time. Easily the most disappointing and least interesting bonus disc of all the deluxe reissues. It's as if "they" had no care about the fans - give 'em some Jeff Beck jams and they'll be grateful.
The new mix, however, is way more interesting. The live album is fantastic.
Totally agree.Quote

I still can't explain why no member of the band said anything about the reissue of this album. No interviews with the press, no TV appearances...

B&B may not be as important as Exile, but it's still a great album that is much loved by their fans.
It seemed to me that they devoted much less time and effort to it than to the other reissues.

That is an interesting aspect.
Did they/do they know... obviously Mick knows something since he sang vocals over an instrumental recording of Shame Shame Shame. Any other work... for the one other song, who knows.
Yet.
Otherwise it's just a filler release. More work went into the live shows than the bonus studio material, which is just as useless as Back Of My Hand.
Based on the lack of initiave from Mick to "finish" the vocals for this deluxe reissue there's zero reason, especially considering his age now vs the SOME GIRLS deluxe... that there will be anymore deluxe reissues of the viable albums, of which are EMTIONAL RESCUE, of which there are some leftovers worthwhile, and UNDERCOVER, of which there are leftover worthwhile.
Can't see a reason for IORR to get a deluxe - there's probably nothing left over.
Then again there could be a 1973 live release included if they went that way.
BAB 2025... will there be more? Cool with me. Although if they're anything like BAB 2025 in regard to deluxe extras... nah.
