The Paris audio from the Blue ray is excellent stereo, in fact even better than Earl's Court: less boomy, better drum sound.

Another teaser:
Fool To Cry Live from Les Abattoirs:
Keith didn't fall asleep that time.
It's funky. Some great playing in that. Mick's timing is horrendous as usual. Billy really makes the song work.

Mick is syncopating just like Keith. Nothing horrendous about it . Nothing funky either. Even Darryl Jones didn't play funk with the Rolling Stones. Bill played an octave based classic disco line on "Miss You".That's about it. Here are the Rolling Stones doing a Black and Blue song called "Fool to cry". Doing their utmost. Presenting a straight forward live version of a romantic rock ballad. A decent performance thanks to Preston as well.
Compared to the LP version and any other live performances eons later it absolutely is funky.
Mick's timing of phrases is sped up, hurried, whatever, which is the meaning behind "horrendous", something he's done over the years for reasons unknown.

So now we kind of know what the Stones would have sounded like if Beck had joined

Add songs like Plundered My Soul and Criss Cross Man there might be enough.

We knew that since the outtakes came out in the early 1980's.
And you only have to listen to She's The Boss and Primitive Cool how awful it would have been had he joined.
But according to Robert A. Johnson: the great guitar hunt never was a great guitar hunt, when he arrived in Rotterdam they made clear they already settled for Wood.

It would have been fantastic. You're right about "kind of" because I can only imagine how awesome he would have sounded on Jumping Jack Flash and Heartbreaker etc.
IMO, I Love Ladies is the best thing they've released since Tattoo You

Thank God it didn't happen. Great albums like "Blow by Blow" and "Wired" might probably not have existed. It would have been musical suicide for musical giant like Jeff Beck had he joined the Stones.
Beck himself spoke about his audition for the band in 2012 and recalled that, after spending the day together, they realised they were on completely different paths.
“Eventually, we got into the same room together and I started playing Bill Wyman’s bass so hard the dust was flying off,” Beck told Ultimate Classic Rock. “I wandered off and the engineer, Glyn Johns, said, ‘That’s incredible!’ I said, ‘One for the archives, mate. I’m leaving tomorrow.’
