At least Ronnie and Keith put out their version of Act Together with Keith's lead vocal. It's a shame Nicky didn't reprise his beautiful work on the Stones outtake for them, but Mac is a pretty decent substitute. Not really surprised MJ didn't do a new vocal now to compete. It would have been uncouth.

As far as I know they recorded this rewrite of Act Together under the title Something Good in Munich December 1974, but never recorded vocals for it.

Act Together on RW's first solo album was already released (September 1974) by the time they recycled parts of Act Together for Something Good (quite similar how they recycled parts of Billy Preston's Do You Love Me for Melody...).

Some people don't have a clue how the charts work in 2025.

There's no physical single here, no chance in hell to chart even Top 1000 anywere.

So? To apparently do. Great. I don’t. Bad luck.

Dec 1974 must be the only B&B sessions involving Hopkins?

It's too bad there isn't another ballad lurking in the BAB vault that could've been included.

Yeah yeah, it's on TATTOO YOU. There must be a couple more though!!

Oh right.

It's on STATIC IN THE ATTIC, which I have, so in my BAB playlist I'll add it to the bonus tracks.

So that's the "Something Good" version ?

As a side note, what a great boot that was, the sound was amazing for the time (still is) ! Incredibly there's a guy who posted a comment last week on a FB post for SSS I think, can't remember where unfortunately, saying he'd somehow bought the original tapes and had brought them to the boot label "Midnight Beat" label for "release". And that he got the idea for the title because he was listening to Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic" at that time. Make of it what you will ;-)

Never heard of Robert A. Johnson from Memphis before today. What a name for a blues guitar player!
After reading about him, he is quite an accomplished musician. I can't wait to listen to the Jam session he had with Jeff Beck and the Stones.

Are there pictures of the Rolling Stones in Rotterdam (1975) while working on the B&B sessions?
Reading Keith's "Life", he was not in a good shape when he arrived in Rotterdam. He needed drugs to be able to function and at first him and Marshall Chess had problems finding it. Eventually he must have figured out how to score to get him in "shape" to play these sessions. Complicated times for the Stones but they were able to survive the madness and make music again; amazing resilience and that is their trademark.

Earls Court should be Dolby Atmos (audio only)

Steven Wilson did the Genesis Lamb remix recently and it's excellent.

Having said that a surround sound of a prog-rock band may not be indicative of a band like the Stones; as they say, your mileage may vary.

But at least it's encouraging.

They choose Rotterdam and Munich as heroin was easily available in these cities.

I never seen a picture of the rehearsal room in 1975, only 1973.

The room was the Eduard Filipse Zaal, which is on the far back end of the Doelen, the opposite site of the Casino and Central station, 350 meters walk from the Hilton Hotel. It is a fairly small room without a stage.

Just an info: jpc.de will start their deliveries to the United States again from end of October 2025.

But due to customs modalities, jpc.de has discontinued their deliveries to Norway.

Yes, I'm talking about the 2025 version.

I listened to the Shame Shame Shame outtake from the Black and Blue period (there's only one available). There isn't a guitar solo on the outtake, which leads me to think the lead solo happened in 2025.

It did happen in 2025, most likely around the time they were working on the new album in London or wherever. There's video of Ronnie playing the descending guitar line.

I'm looking forward to the remix of the album.

I've not been reading much about the GHS remix, which I like a lot, so when I found out about the album being remixed - cool.

Except for processing things to "sound" like now, I doubt it's about making it sound "modern" but just different for a 1976 mindset.

Different EQ, different panning... the GHS remix is excellent. The difference is nuance.

That will probably be the deal with the 2025 BLACK AND BLUE. At least UMG isn't wasting space with the original.
