I can't believe how great Shame Shame Shame is, I absolutely love it!
Does anyone think - with the proper promo - that it could chart?

It indeed is a great song! I am glad they can still bring out great stuff even though it's partly from ages ago. Mick does a fantastic job singing it.

Loving it too, has a great vibe and energy to it. And Mick's falsetto - wonderful!

My wife and daughter, normally not too enamoured with the Stones, really enjoying this one.

Well, ordering the same box from cdjapan will end up like 160€ with all S&H and VAT payed on site. Although, it will arrive a few weeks later.

But you never know with customs .... recently I had surprisingly to pay 33% customs fees which is far more than just the VAT (reason was an incorrect declaration). Another thing are the new US-Tariffs. While CDJapan might not deliver, jpc might soon (DHL commercial goods shipping to the U.S. resumed now). Another advantage with jpc.de would be that I can be sure that they deliver to the 'DHL Packstation' self-service parcel box. But in a free market, it's everyone's own decision if he prefers jpc or CDJapan.

In EU custom fees are applied for purchases over 150€ (gods + S&H). And that is more than simple VAT. For sure, you will pay those customs, for example, in the case of 120€ for goods + DHL delivery 40€.

cdjapan has an option to pay VAT on site, during checkout. They made themself with IOSS system for EU market. I used this option all the time since it was available. Not a single extra penny payed for local post office and not a single problem with customs. But I checked the final price before placing the order. Total below 150€ is a key.

Shipping to the US is a different story. I am positive that all companies and territories have problems shipping there.

Vinyl records, cds, and cassettes are classified as "information materials" and are exempt from the new US tariffs.

Can someone please explain what the definition of "reimagined" means for an album 50 years old? I sure hope they do not change the sound of the album.

It's the one album they should just leave alone.

Outtakes are great but I sure hope they don't sound like they were recorded in 2025.

the bad news

the album is being remixed

the possible good news

the guy doing it is held in high esteem by audiophiles

also didn't they already ruined the sound by brickwalling it like 15 yeas ago

So far I like everything I've heard from Steve Wilson remixes. Only exception is the toned down guitar riff of Ritchie Blackmore's intro of Highway Star from the Made In Japan album. I expect this release to be amazing, since it's already in brilliant quality. Maybe he added some more instrumentation here and there and brought out a few things we didn't hear before. I doubt it will be a butcher job.

So is it still confirmed that the Japan edition contains no additional bonus material? If so this is a first, I think.

Yes, no bonus - [www.Universal-Music.co.jp] - (except English commentary translation / lyrics translation and SHM-CD).

I don't remember any extra songs with super deluxe Sticky Fingers, were there any?

Nope. Just alternate versions and live tracks. The poorest of the deluxes imho.

The poorest? With a full 1971 show, parts of the Roundhouse show, and the Marquee show? Unheard work in progress versions of CYHMK, Bitch, Dead Flowers?

Poor?

Maybe it’s been addressed already if so please forgive me. Do we know if the bonus studio tracks all include Charlie or have Steve’s parts been dubbed in? I hope not.

The inclusion of the 'complete' Leeds performance, couple with a chunk of the Roundhouse show, makes the Sticky Fingers Deluxe the best, for me. All of them have been good, but I cannot pretend that the 'previously unreleased tracks' with new vocals, and overdubs by Ronnie, generally do much for me.

In some cases the remix improves the original. I'm not sure this will be the case with Black And Blue, but it's still fun to hear a new take on the album.

I think the new 2025 remix of Rapture of The Deep sounds a lot better than the original from 2005.

Sticky super deluxe was great. This one though is the most disappointing as far as bonus studio tracks. Such a missed opportunity as this was probably our only chance with all the demos and outtakes that we know exist. Especially considering the added dimension of new guitarists being auditioned. But I do think the 2 live shows audio and video make up for it. And maybe Steven Wilson’s mix will add a little extra too to what was already a sonic masterpiece.

The credits for 'Shame, Shame, Shame' say 'Charlie Watts, Percussion, DrumKit' - [www.Qobuz.com] .

I mean, I did say imho.
It wasn't crap, don't get me wrong - but yeah, after Exile and Some Girls, it definitely felt like a step down.
Especially if you regard unearthed/unreleased studio recordings to be better value for money than more live versions, which I do.
I'm just comparing it to the other deluxe editions.

You'll find the info in the Black And Blue 2025 thread.

«The Blu-Ray also includes a previously unreleased live TV recording from Paris and Dolby Atmos mixes (Black And Blue, Earl's Court).»

From [www.Universal-Music.co.jp] :

"In addition to the TV broadcast footage of the unreleased 1976 Paris Aux Abattoirs performance, the Blu-ray includes a Dolby Atmos mix of the studio album and the Earls Court performance live." "With Japanese subtitles (Blu-ray/live video only)."

"Reimagined" is just marketing. I don't recall any of The Beatles remixed albums being hyped that way, which sound fantastic.

Give the remix a listen. If you don't like it the original is intact in multiple formats, original and reissues (on CD there's the CBS/Columbia original issue and the Virgin Records reissue). And if you want the original album in an unlistenable way get the UMG reissue - on CD, of course, and probably the same on whatever streaming platforms except iTunes/Apple Music since they require a specific mastering.

Shame Shame Shame and the rest of the bonus material is probably brickwalled like everything else Universal touches. UMG ruins everything they do with horrific mastering. So that probably makes the fact that Shame Shame Shame's 2025 vocal recordings and Ronnie's guitar overdub don't matter that they're new.

Hopefully the remix is not brickwalled.

It's too bad there isn't another ballad lurking in the BAB vault that could've been included.

Yeah yeah, it's on TATTOO YOU. There must be a couple more though!!

Oh right.

It's on STATIC IN THE ATTIC, which I have, so in my BAB playlist I'll add it to the bonus tracks.
