I understood that there were technical problems with the quality of the Knebworth recording in places that prevented an official release. That's why all the bootleg soundboard releases were incomplete.

Is this the case or does a quality master tape exist? Any thoughts?

I wonder if there's the possibility a deluxe "Love You Live." having heard the tracks that were mastered but rejected for release on the album
("Love You Live Mixes 2016"), these are great quality. These could be added along with others for release.

Thanks.

They haven't exhausted the CD case made out of Keith's hair idea. That WILL sell...

The WHAT?

No I mean did they really consider making a CD out of Keith's hair?

Don't know. I'm sharing ideas. Maybe some of Ron's hair too?
I'm spitballing...

I removed released tracks (as well as two other recordings of Fingerprint File) from what is known to have been chosen for the live album in May 1977:

First cuts considered for Love You Live:

- Hand Of Fate (MJ/KR) -London 26.5.76
- Hey Negrita (MJ/KR) -Paris 7.6.76
- Ain’t Too Proud To Beg (Norman Whitfield/Eddie Holland) -Paris 5.6.76
- Fool To Cry (MJ/KR) -Paris 5.6.76
- Dance Little Sister (MJ/KR) -Toronto 5.3.77, edit
- Street Fighting Man (MJ/KR) -London 5/76

Hadn't thought of this perspective. Guess they could do a sort of Love You Live from different locations. Also, there's already some LYL out-takes on bootleg that sound pretty good. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Of course it would be nice for them to make millions out of these outtakes and deluxe editions, but to get these classic albums in the spotlight/charts again is far more important for their legacy. In the 90's this wouldn't have sold millions of copy's either..

They probably look at the full El Mocambo release as the LYL deluxe...

Rightfully so. The only thing superior to El Mocambo on LYL is the Warhol artwork.

In the new issue of Record Collector they report on Black And Blue with bonuses due out in November.

Does it also mention which bonus? Outtakes or something else?

Which means, HD2 already in summer or only next year?

Black & Blue is one of my favourites, such a groove to it. And the tracks they played that year from the album all sounded great. I was hoping for a super-deluxe for B&B with Paris 1976 DVD..etc. I know, been discussed a lot, it seems we won't get Paris '76 just yet, but we will get B&B with 2 or 3 outtakes?

The new album then I assume will be put off to earlier next year.

The VOODOO 30 year anniversary reissue was pointless since the "bonus" material was the B-sides which, personally, I've had since 1994.

B&B so far will only have 2 bonus tracks.

That's not worth bothering with if that number doesn't get higher. Even 4 tracks isn't worth bothering with.

Nor is another remastering because it will be horrific - if that actually happens at all.

No. Just "with bonuses"...

It was originally reported by [www.TheSun.co.uk] on June 10-11, 2025 - posted also here on [iorr.org] :

"In November, to mark Ronnie’s 50th anniversary of joining the Stones, the band plans to release a remastered edition of its 1976 Black and Blue album, featuring two new tracks."

All other press articles seem to use quotes from this.

The exactat word in Record Collector are: "The Rolling Stones Black And Blue with bonuses, ABKCO (;D), November."

ABKCO & 'Black and Blue' .... says much about the credibility of this Record Collector magazine article.

Curious. Given the kind of mag it is, Record Collector would usually be a very reliable, authoritative source! Hmmmmmm.

Unless they saw that the instrumental recording of Monkey Man and one other one that's never been listed anywhere are the two bonus tracks.

If there's a second disc for 2 tracks someone needs to be fired - they can be added on after BLACK AND BLUE, since it's 41 minutes long.

They've got enough songs to have another album.

Second disc maybe for the Vinyl edition - similar to 'Blue & Lonesome' with 3 tracks per side - the 'Black and Blue' original gatefold packaging would make sense then.

The Stones should let some of the fans on this site go in the vaults and pick out the best leftovers and unreleased live stuff. And then present them to the Stones.

Vinyl would most likely be a 10" or maybe a 7" but it's pointless for the CD edition to have a second disc with just two songs on it.

The Stones have somewhere a contract stipulating that new bonus songs for an original album may never be added to the original disc, but only on a bonus disc. They don't adhere to that in Japan, but there, of course, it always involves a new release with bonus material.

There will be more than 2 "new" songs, it will be very similar to the GHS reissue that had 3 additional tracks and 7 instrumentals and alternative takes, B&B will be the same and with a show from the '76 tour included on another disc.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got 6th of June complete... Frankfurt would be cool as it has ADTL but first show not very likely. Personally I would love if they could release Leicester.
