If anybody should be pissed, it's Ronnie. He's in the band and they picked a photo that he is only half in. Maybe his status in the band is shaky and this reflects it.
bill wyman is not a rolling stone! he hasnt been for 10 years!!!!! who cares if he was in the band he isnt anymore and appears to have made himself and the fans happy about it
why dont we put chuck leavell or darryl or billy preston or mt or bj they all used to be with the rolling stones too -- oh and what about bobby why isnt he in the pic ...........
Bill was a truly rolling stone and deserves credit for his job with the band. I miss him and I think most of the fans think the same way as I do.
If you don´t want Bill to be in the cover of the Rarities album, just choose a picture of the band as a four piece, that is so simple... nobody would complain if they had done this way.

I agree. There must be thousands of decent photographs where Bill wasn't originally included in that could have been used without any editing. Ridiculous...

Yeah...those are the same fans who loved Monkey Grip.
Bill sucked. He is an ok bass player and a HORRIBLE and TERRIBLE performer. He is now just a bitter old man who bites the hands that fed him for over 25 years.

Well, your lines show that you haven´t understood the Stones at all. Bill wyman´s basslines are charactristic for dozens of songs, he was a great team player who did not need to "perform" (as they had/have a great frontman). Saying Bill sucked means saying Charlie sucked, because both were a f a n t a s t ic rhythm section and that means a great fundament for those riffs and leads of the other 2 stringmen.
Thank you open-g!! Now I will make the cover as it supposed to be! It is a retrospective of their b- sides career and that certainly includes Bill IMHO!
now if someone has an even better pic please post it, regardless it's good to see the classic five piece band again on the front of a cd!

If the guy who wrote the liner notes for Rarities reads this post his reaction would be:
a) Woody's not an original member b) who's Ian Stewart c) both A) and b)
As for the [picture i agree that the big problem is gthe airbrushing. On the cover use a current picture and inside pay tribute to ALL who contributed for the period. At least when they went into the Hall of Fame Mick had the good graces to mention Stu and Brian!!
Bill was not only a true Rolling Stone, he was the "Stones Face"! And he is the main sound architect of the Stones sound and together with Charlie he was the swinging and grooving rhythm engine of the Stones.
And he had good reasons to leave. Elbow Crunch brought it to the point. Do you remember when Brians funeral was? Who wasn't there? Mick and Keef, Just to get a clue what was important to Mick and Keef (Mick Taylor left, Brian dead, Bill left and Ronnie alcoholic, just by accident?).
And now just think of it why Bill left. He's really p*ssed by two guys, believe me!
hey woody has more time in the stones than wyman now, go figure, and still the man gets no respect, bummer, i for one am glad they airbrushed wyman out, he crossed the line and has to take his lumps, screw the quitter wyman 62-91 last song played on , woody 75 -05 and still going
