Is there no chance of a DVD? Maybe it will be bootlegged in this format.
Does anyone know if Camden Market sells DVDs these days?

I was at the show in the front row (standing) and poked my tongue out at the camera when it panned across the audience.

I remember Charlie breaking a drum and Ronnie getting a hat from a guy in the crowd and surprising Lisa by hanging it over her mic.

Also remember Jerry Hall and,I think, Jack Nicholson upstairs.

Interestingly, Bravado.de has now removed the WTSB release from their website. On the other hand, the release is currently not officially announced by the Rolling Stones.

Oh no, hope it’s just a mistake, maybe a price adjustment.

Only a cd/blu ray combo? Will there be also a cd/dvd combo?

When AntoineParis announced the release of Shepherd's Bush, it was said no DVD or bonus tracks.

I always thought they used digital cinema cameras

In 2016, 'Havana Moon' was digitally shot in 4K with 14 Sony PMW-F55 cameras - [www.FDTimes.com] .

Interesting. I have always liked to know about the equipment/technology used.

There's a logical train of thought that a release can't be better than the technology used. I discovered that the Tami Show's Blu-ray was far better than the previous DVD (a different company had the rights when Blu-ray was released).

'Welcome to Shepherd's Bush' now listed on [Bravado.de] as well as [Fnac.com] , [Fnac.com] , [Fnac.com] , [Fnac.com] .

Hm, I'm not sure but since it disapeared from Bravado, it doesn't apear on Amazon and there's no single word about it from the RS, may be it's the well known boot in a new dress...
Though, it looks very promissing.
We'll see.

The release is currently not officially announced by the Rolling Stones, but the items are still listed on Amazon and Fnac (see the 1st post of this thread).

Personally I don't think we should fear a lot of mistakes. Certainly they did some over dubbing. I'm more concerned about the dynamics, hoping it's listenable. If so, I'm going to be a very happy guy.

I don't think they did new overdubs to any of the Vault releases. On some they used overdubs already available from the vault (Hampton and El Mocambo come to my mind).

On the other hand they left very big @#$%& ups in the vault releases. Just look at Respectable/When the whip comes down incident from Buenos Aires.

There are fixes, though: SFTD from VOODOO UNCUT, Keith laid rotten eggs left and right and it's been covered up by a terrible copy and paste that, bizarrely, is now on the YouTubes of that had the original destroyed performance, which can no longer be found anywhere that I've seen.

The Wembley TY live album, that's the She's So Cold hacked to fit because the first 2 minutes were horrible.

Blu-ray is superior to DVD yet they've had plenty of DVD and Blu-ray releases. Not sure why anyone would continue getting DVDs. Blu-ray players play DVDs (and CDs) so it's not like it's a huge shift in hardware. I haven't bought a DVD in years on purpose and whatever Stones releases have the option I get Blu-ray.

For whatever reason quite a few Stones video releases were DVD only when they could've been in the Blu-ray format as well. STONES IN EXILE, LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, the ridiculous 2008 movie... SOME GIRLS LIVE IN TEXAS and probably a few others that I can't remember or don't have.

as for why peope still buy dvd's for one there cheaper usually then the blu-ray and if the source video is from tape then the better picture quality of blu-ray can't really help improve it much over dvd

better audio though but most people aren't audiophiles and wouldn't care because the dvd sounds good enough

a lot of people also aren't videophiles either and are perfectly happy with a cheaper format that there already familiar with

however you can get a blu-ray player really cheap now and as you say they play dvd's too

and i have both ladies and gentlemen and some girls texas 78 on blu-ray and dvd

if antoine is right about sheppard's bush being shot on film then the blu-ray is gonna look much better compared to a potential dvd release

trust me your better off just upgrading your player there really cheap now and if you don't mind used you could go to goodwill and get one with a remote for $15-$25 dollars

there not really anymore complicated to set up then a dvd player and there's not much difference in how you operate them either

Ok.

The mix - I forget who, sorry, said they hope it's better than NO SECURITY and SHINE A LIGHT... I think?

I thought NS sounded (still) great.

Fine.

Have read about mixes in regard to BRIDGES two live releases yet alone others.

Sam Wheat, right?

No matter what Ronnie was doing he was there. Why Sam Wheat was directed to minimize Ronnie's playing... they're hiding what?

For whatever reason the Stones (Mick) has chosen...

I've gotta put new batteries in my AC/heater therostat.

Thanks Irix!
Great news. I had to refresh my memory here.
A great concert with a lovely setlist and the Stones were very relaxed.
I remember sitting right behind Mick's brother Chris.
I spoke to him earlier in the hotel where we had to pick up the tickets. There I also briefly met with Bob Geldof and his (meanwhile late) young daughter.
I also remember Mick adding a line at the end of "Melody" to keep in line with the music: "in the microwave" (roast that child alive) grinning smiley
We were made aware of the presence of many crème-de-la-crème of the rock'n'roll scene like members of the Who, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, John Bon Jovi, Dave Steward, Geldof, etc., etc.
I have to admit that I only noticed a few, because I was there to enjoy the Stones of course cool smiley
A not so nice memory was seeing Anita P. at the end of the show standing at the stairs. Here appearance really shocked me.
Once outside an Englishman wanted to desparately buy my (white) plastic bag (I had bought an event T-shirt). I clearly didn't want to obviously, but his bidding went up to 8 (!) Pounds, so I gave up cool smiley and carried my T-shirt under my arm.
Great memories!

This is maybe my favorite late Stones-show. Lucky guy!

Why was seeing Anita P. a shocking moment for you? The fact she was there? Her look? Her age?

I must say that in the years later on I saw better (decent) images of her, but when I left the hall and turned to the stairways, she was standing there (with a black guy to her left next to her) and I just happened to look straight into her eyes for no reason at all.
It was like looking into an emptiness so dark that it felt like facing a ghost, resulting in a brief shiver. Obviously I turned away right away.
The concert and all nice things around it soon made me forget it that night though.

smileys with beer

Thank you for sharing your memories

That makes a great deal of sense. But once you let Peter Jackson (and his team) near the product, they seem to be able to reverse the logic.

Look at what he did with "Get Back". The audio was cleaned up and remixed, and the video (shot on 16mm I think) was not only made good enough for Blu-Ray, but good enough for an IMAX screen. (Yes, I've watched The Beatles Rooftop Concert on an IMAX screen and it was awesome).

So, these bewildering times it is arguably posible to make a release better than the technology used!

The answer to your first question is YES.

Peter Jackson is a huge huge personal Beatles fan. I recently watched a long (Beatles oriented) podcast that Peter took part in. Among the wondrous things he mentioned was that he had acquired (ie Peter himself fully owns) the original tapes of The Beatles "Star Club" show, and that he was working on them and that Apple knew, and had not objected ("Go for it" was the quote).

So, setting aside the infinite complications of Copyright and Ownership, then it can be, and is being, done.

But it's never going to be 'simple'.

In Peter Jackson's "Star Club" example, there's nothing whatsoever to stop him owning the tapes, there's nothing whatsoever to stop him processing the recordings, there's nothing whatsoever stopping him from playing the tapes in his own home, but there are a million lawyers stopping him from sharing them.

The person that has the Toronto live show tapes, I forget where I read about it... Apple/UMG turned them down! That seems strange. Didn't even want to bother buying them! However I don't know enough about that early frame of The Beatles and whatever live material has been released already.

So strange. Seems like a no brainer but perhaps there's a fear of not making the money back of the purchase. I have no idea, of course. The Beatles fan base is dying out, just like the Stones. People interested in some live show from 1965 or whenever it was probably isn't exactly lucrative for UMG to invest in.

Which makes total sense yet makes no sense at all considering what they do invest in.

Music is all about the audio. It should be the best possible quality, IMHO. The picture looks better on Blu-ray, as I've seen in the TAMI show Blu-ray. How much better? idk, how much better could it be? Better is better.
