Nice video.

I'm looking forward to spotting people I recognise in the audience!

I think they'll have to repost it on YouTube, because the sound wasn't right. (The right channel was missing)

Vocals are much louder than anything else.

Edit: Respectable sounds great though. Makes me wonder if something is wrong with the audio on Saint of me?

Don't know what Keith took that evening but the prancing and posing looks quite ridiculous nowadays....

The change in Keith between BRIDGES to BANG is absolutely nuts. He was still cognizant during the LICKS tour but by the 2005 tour he was no longer in orbit.

It is amusing that during the BRIDGES era he was highly animated. Maybe it's because he wasn't dyeing his hair. And he had perfected his 3 note filler guitar lick for anywhere in any song that he started during STEEL WHEELS, ruined during the VOODOO tour and had minimized during BRIDGES.

I wonder sometimes - being a fan of other bands, or for that matter, people that are fans of other bands in some regard to how serious Stones fans are/can be... with exception to one length of time that was stagnant show wise (1983-1988, or, as some might say, 1982-1989), the growth or demise can be very obvious or zero.

Strictly in terms of performance.

The Rolling Stones have wavered all over the place in regard to their live performances. But U2, The Cult, Bruce, and many others that, even with a break here and there, didn't just up and bomb out but kept going with contact in regard to previous - no one jumped, it just grew.

Slow gradual changes evolved.

The Stones, yes, 1969-1973 was a steady evolution.

Enter 1975-76 to 1978 to 1981-82... holy crap. 3 different bands.

Bizarrely 1989 Stones are more in line with 2012-onward Stones than 1994-2003 Stones.

They had a quasi-evolution from 1997-2003 (the VOODOO tour was borderline bad). They encompassed everything before, tightened it up, and really played.

They haven't been the same since, with possible exception - maybe - during the NO FILTER tours.

Theatre and club shows have nearly always made for better live recordings than stadium shows.

I suspect that part of this has simply been down to the very different nature of putting on a show of that scale, on huge stages with all kinds of delay issues and technological solutions thereof.

There's less musical interaction, and many of the subtleties of timing and touch are inevitably missing or lost in that environment .

I find the Voodoo Lounge tour the worst tour they have done in their entire career.

The stage, the sound (those guitars....), the clothes, the posing, the songs, the playing -there's just nothing to like for me.

I loved that Vaults option of the vinyl and DVD package.

That said ...I've hardly ever watched the DVDs.

[Most of my stuff on video is saved to my Sky box from TV broadcasts or downloads.
It's surprising how much has been put out on Sky Arts, and even by the BBC ]

Do you know if it will be possible to download the video version in Blu Ray quality somewhere? Naturally for a fee

Looks like DVD has finally been phased out.
I was collecting the DVDs from the start, but now I will have to get the Blu-ray+2CD verson.

The trailer says that video & audio of this release will also be available digitally. Have a look at Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV+ and audio streaming/download services on 6-Dec-2024.

I prefer Voodoo to Urban Jungle or Bridges by a long shot. Though every tour has songs that shine.

Yah! Me too!

I don't understand the hate for the Voodoo Lounge Tour. I loved it!

The great beginning with "Not Fade Away"!
A couple of VL songs like "Love is Strong" and "I GO Wild" which were made to play life and songs they didn't perform life for years, like "Rocks Off" or "Sweet Virginia" and "Heartbreaker" or songs they never did before like the great "Monkey Man" or the Dylan cover "Like a Rolling Stone".

What's not to like?
I like the other tours too, but this one as well.

Yeah, the Voodoo Lounge Tour has never particularly enthralled me, either; Keith’s playing on Satisfaction was great, though; terrific guitar-time!

The theatre shows in Europe and London were exceptional, however.
