Music is all about the audio. It should be the best possible quality, IMHO. The picture looks better on Blu-ray, as I've seen in the TAMI show Blu-ray. How much better? idk, how much better could it be? Better is better.

i know i have several copies on dvd, vhs and the blu-ray release packaged with the big tnt show

and compared to the best dvd source it's a major upgrade

but then it would be wouldn't it since it was shot on film if it was shot on tape it be a different matter and there would likely only be slight improvement

and i agree on the audio if that's what your listening to audio

however if your watching a film of a show i personally would prioritize the best possible picture as long as i had that i could tolerate less then perfect sound (as long as it's not to bad)

and given there track record with recent vault releases i may have to tolerate less then perfect sound over great picture

hope not though

His last efforts like Wiltern and Newark were quite good.

I think Wiltern is pretty good on vinyl.

Sorry for being not that enthousiastic but seeing The Rolling Stones in relatively small venue is just a dream and then you witness one member high on pot or the other one drunk...

I bough the Wiltern but the MSG gig was a far better performance music wise.

So this time will be without me.

But in the 70's, they were relatively young and able to somehow cope. When in your 50's, the pace has to slow a little, otherwise you're in trouble... and Ronnie was!

The shots shown in the trailer look like this film will be one for the history books, at least visually! Can't wait

Looks fantastic. 4k disc is ordered! What else sleeps in the vaults in this quality?

I suppose they pulled the release information until they made that video clip. Now we can see the video quality is great. Game on!

The link to the trailer leads to a private video. Why is the trailer removed?

cd japan has SHM versions.

Ordering from Japan makes sence if
- there is a unique bonus track (not the case here)
- superior packaging, like a proper digipak or 7" sleeve (not the case here)
Otherwise extra booklet in Japanese and OBI has value for completists only. These additions do not justify the price for a regular customer.

SHM material is a bait. With the typical brickwall mastering there will be no improvements in the sound.

Because there's still no official announcement by the Rolling Stones ?

It's an official release so I would bet it's not a soundboard but newly mixed from a multi track recording. Every single release from 1969 onwards was like that.
