OT: It's Shindig time!

Nice slice of music history. I watched this show, along with Hullabaloo, Where The Action Is and others, including the Lloyd Thaxton show where I saw Sonny and Cher during their Caeser and Cleo stage which preceded Sonny and Cher. If memory serves, Raul Revere and the Raiders were almost always on Where The Action Is dressed in their American Revolution costumes. Leon Russell is good in his clip and we get to see him with his pompadoured hair. The Stones did Play With Fire on Shindig which still sits in my memory jukebox. Enjoy.

The link points to [bestclassicbands.com] which is all about the time The Rolling Stones brought Howlin' Wolf to the screens of the USA TV watchers.

One of my favourite clips of early Stones. Brian is pretty much jumping up and down with excitement introducing Wolf. Great stuff.

The pianist at the start of the Wolf video is a young Billy Preston.

WOW X2!!!!

.............I remember all of these classic TV shows, and while my friends were out hangin' around or playing sports, I was home watching them. They never quite figured it out, and they also didn't want to go to all the concerts coming to town.

Thankfully, I went to see the shows by myself; saw the boys in 1966, The Animals, Herman Hermits, The Monkees!, James Brown, Grand Funk, Elvis, many Jazz performers, and on and on...........!!!
