Its a rehearsal.

I agree with this. Nothing to judge. I find it interesting theres no Noel backing vocals. Both those songs feature him prominently...

Hopefully, that's a sign of Noel focusing more on his playing! He's probably a little rusty, considering his been more of a 'strummer' in recent years. I'd love a return of the, Noel-led, 1994-'98 guitar-heroics.

I do believe these are the rehearsals for the Def Maybe tour last year, as the source is The Sun it's probably so sad smiley

Well, here's there will be more leaks; this time featuring Noel bellowing out something like Little By Little. Then, we'll know for certain!

Doesn't this claim contradict what he said earlier when he said he had to message Liam or Noel and ask why he hadn't been offered to join for the tour?

He remains perplexed and saddened by it, not least because he says he turned down the megawatt Oasis tour because he was in The Who. Which he now isn’t.

So were he not in The Who, he would have played with Oasis? “Of course. Of course.”

So, Zak’s loyalty to the Who has got him nowhere, ultimately.

He should’ve just joined Oasis; a far bigger band.

Thats why I'm asking as a long time Oasis admirer. How did HE get the gig? Who knew him? Did Michael Stipe recommend him? Zak is free and we have three weeks...

Waronker played on Liam’s 2024 album and tour with John Squire, you can see him drumming in that context here: [youtu.be]. He’s a great drummer, whether he’s a good fit for Oasis remains to be seen but I’m optimistic.

It is strange that Zak is all of a sudden saying he specifically turned down the Oasis tour because he was in The Who when he did explicitly say before that he asked Noel "why aren't I your drummer for this tour?" I'm on Zak's side with this, but something isn't right there with him now saying he turned it down, unless the below was a lie to I guess kinda protect the Who? I really can't tell:

Conversation then turned to what Zak made of the upcoming [Oasis] reunion tour, to which Zak immediately responded to say he was ‘gutted’ about not being asked to take part in the shows.

He said: “I texted them and said ‘why am I not in it?’. You know, if you get a new drummer, you get comfortable, don’t you? You get comfortable with new musicians and I think that’s what’s happened and I’m alright with that.”

He went on to say he would have joined them on tour had the offer come in. He told the BBC programme: “God, yeah. Greatest rock and roll band of my generation. Greatest rock and roll singer of my generation.”

The new Morning Glory 30th has some acoustic tracks. Anybody know where they’re from? Are they newly recorded?

This version of Acquiesce is proper weird, the singing sounds like the original version until the second verse which is identical to the first and which is always sung live since late '95. A shame that Liam never sings the second verse as that is a very beautiful one indeed.

I do wonder if this is not a "Frankenstein job", a bit like our boys have done since the Exile reissue..?

Oh it absolutely is. I don’t think they’re hiding that. It’s not like they made it in 95, they just used the same vocal stems (and some of the studio banter).

It's an odd and almost pointless piece of music, which adds little to the majesty of the original.

However:

Well that little mashup is proof there's nothing left from the sessions to release...even an outtake of Acquiesce would be more interesting.

50k cellphones will be up alright - to capture that moment, the return after 16 years or so, and opening song. Though I'm sure cellphones will be up for most of the show.

I'd say 'Acquiesce' will be the opening song, followed by 'Rock'n'Roll Star'

We shall see. All of the hype since the announcement and the day is here, will it live up to it? For those in attendance, certainly.

The thing with indie acts is that they got the women too - a mixed audience. They have the audience Sir Michael would have liked to have. They now have the right demographics too.
Money is seldom tight for people around 50. I'm sure this tour is even more important for the musicians in the band. They need the money even more than the Gallagher brothers.

Oasis are in a good position: the ‘older fans’, those who saw them ‘way back then’, are nearing fifty, still young enough to enjoy a concert. Their gen-z offspring think Liam is cool, and harkens back to a time when musicians were rock-stars, and less like, I dunno, whatever passes these day’s! I think the crowd will be a healthy, balanced mix, of Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z; with not a boomer in sight!
