I always found this brotherly feud thingy contrived, a gimmick, and a rehash of the feud between Ray and Dave Davies.

Thought I had to mention The Kinks here, as Oasis were as much a Kinks imitation as they were a Beatles imitation.

I'm no Oasis fan (you could tell, right?), so I will be outta here now drinking smiley

Aussie music promoter reveals the real reason why Oasis will only visit Sydney and Melbourne on their 2025 reunion tour… as general sale sells out in just 90 minutes

By Ali Daher
October 15, 2024

Veteran concert promoter Michael Coppel revealed that Oasis were offered gigs in other Aussie cities but didn't take them up on the offer.

He also batted down fan theories that the Gallagher brothers could be yet to announce further shows, insisting their global tour schedule is already jam-packed.

'They're booked to go to Japan after Sydney so there's no extending on to other States,' he told the Courier Mail.

'We offered them the opportunity of doing [more shows] in other states but they didn't want to take that up; they were happy just to be doing Melbourne and Sydney.

'There are 10 shows in North America and now five shows at the moment in Australia; we've done pretty well.'

The Cure’s Robert Smith says dynamic ticket pricing is a “scam” and “driven by greed”

The original article published on The Times is paywalled. If you search with “Robert Smith dynamic ticket pricing”, a number of quotes from there as well as related comments from readers and discussions (e.g. Reddit) will come up.

[N.B. I have also posted this on the “overpriced concert tickets” thread.]

Cast and Richard Ashcroft have been confirmed as the two warm-up acts to perform at Oasis' U.K. shows next year. That's a very good triple bill, in my opinion.

Nah! Cast released some great singles in the 90's, and Richard Ashcroft is legend of his time.

I still hope Manics will provide support in Cardiff, they're a great band and I would prefer them to Cast and Ashcroft. Although it was cool seeing Ashcroft enter the RAH stage while Cast No Shadow was played at the weekend...

Having the Manics as an opener would be terrific - and they still warm-up for 'bigger acts' - but it does appear that it'll be Cast and Ashcroft at all U.K. shows. I'm unsure about Dublin, but would imagine it'll be the same bill there, too. I'd of liked Travis, myself. They have a new album to promote, and like The Manics, still support other acts.

I bought that Cast single "Guiding Star" when it came out but that's all I have with them. Manics were MEGA between 93-98. I saw them live once around the corner and they opened up with Motorcycle Emptiness which was a rather bold and cool move. They easily have around fifteen ten outta ten trax throughout their career.

They absolutely were: Gold Against The Soul, The Holy Bible, and Everything Must Go, are all great; the latter-two being 5-star efforts, for me. Apart from a few of their more recent releases, I have most of their albums.

Hopefully those tickets will put back into circulation correctly, so those who missed out will get another, deserved chance.

There was talk of three support acts for each show back in August, so I think the Manics in Cardiff are nailed on if true. Liam has been giving clues about support acts over the past few months and the Manics have been one of them. Not to mention on Facebook the Manics only follow three accounts...the Oasis account being one of the them.

I bought tickets for.the Manics Spring tour in their pre sale yesterday so if they support Oasis in Cardiff it will be a wonderful bonus. An unbelievable band on record and live.

I'd say the Manics are definitely going to be supporting at at least the Cardiff shows.

I think they're a remarkable band, still making compelling music. Three of my own favourites are from the last ten years - Reeind the Film, Futurology, and Ultra Vivid Lament. James's 2020 solo record 'Even In Exile' is up there too.

“The Gallaghers will reportedly be kept apart when not on stage in a 'military style operation' during their much-anticipated reunion tour.

There will be separate dressing rooms and transport to avoid a clash and resulting 'PR and financial nightmare'.

A source told The Mirror last month: 'They will not be in each other's pockets and effectively be separate entities that come together for necessary promotional work and the gigs. Other than that they will be apart for much of this reunion.”

Hilarious on so many levels.

I do wonder what this 'PR' work will entail? They won't be participating in any interviews - together or apart - unfortunately. Maybe they'll loosen-up a little, early next year. All we've got are a few black-and-white publicity photographs of the brothers. Aside from the tour-dates, much of the broader details are shrouded in mystery!

I really wonder if in true Irish style, Mammy Gallagher is the only authority Liam & Noel recognize. Military style planning for a tour and these guys are probably having cup’s of tea round their ma’s house for the last few months.

Yeah, I agree it's hilarious but that's about it. The Sun and Daily Mail haven't got a clue in between 'em. I've known Liam and Noel since 2002 and believe you all me, they will not risk this. They are both much mature and practically got the same values and philosophy of life and are both Great to meet and talk to, just like our beautiful Charlie was and Keith is.
I am over the moon for the lads having this second coming and they will not disappoint as they are the Last Dying Breed along with The Stones and a few others (James Burton, Ozzy, DP, Willie, Angus and GnR's etc)
Just enjoy it while it lastssmileys with beer

It is hilarious...

But those arrangements are not too dissimilar to those made for Mick and Keith down the years ...and at some times perhaps they've been necessary winking smiley

That said . If you can't be civil to your own brother for a few months in order to make millions of pounds...what's wrong with you !
