They must need money.

Liam always needs money; the difference now is that Noel has had an expensive divorce. Seriously, though, I am on holiday and there are a lot of middle aged people who grew up in the Oasis/Brit Pop era around and it has been amazing to listen to the buzz about this reunion - all saying they will go to gigs.

Great, funny interview with Noel a few years ago where he met Keith. Keith says oh, you're still around! You guys were pretty big at one time. Noel says I could say the same about you!
Keith also asked who has the bigger c*nt for a lead singer. Noel said well your singer wrote some of the biggest lyrics in rock music so I'd have to say mine. Keith said fair enough.
Another vid that circulated recently, Noel was having lunch in a restaurant with his family I believe, and then the whole restaurant starts singing Wonderwall.

Oasis tour announcement - Gallagher brothers reunite but not all rumours are true

Tomorrow at 8am, Noel, 57, and Liam, 51, will announce a UK tour for Oasis next summer that will see them perform in London, Manchester as well as Scotland, Wales and Ireland

Oasis will announce a full UK tour next summer - and the previously warring Gallagher brothers have officially buried the hatchet while they teamed up for a photoshoot.

Tomorrow at 8am, Noel, 57, and Liam, 51, will announce a UK tour next summer that will see them perform in London, Manchester as well as Scotland, Wales and Ireland. It is not thought that they will headline Glastonbury Festival, despite rumours suggesting otherwise. They will also not be performing 10 nights at Wembley Stadium.

It comes after Liam’s slot at Reading Festival, where he performed the group’s 1994 album Definitely, Maybe to mark its 30th anniversary, teased the announcement and dedicated the track Half The World Away to his brother Noel. To promote the tour, the estranged brothers have spent a photoshoot session together, marking the first time the pair have reunited since Noel quit the group 15 years ago, announcing he could not work “a day longer” with his brother Liam.

I'm hearing it won't be the original band besides Liam & Noel. Pity. Bonehead was kind of their understated secret weapon.

If they do stadiums in North America, they will probably be fewer and farther between. UK will likely be a bloodbath for tickets.

I am not an Oasis fan but their Street Fighting Man cover is top, amazing.

I think their first album is brilliant but they kind of lost it after that.

Their live cover of I Am the Walrus from that era is pretty great too, with the extended outro and all.

Would go. I can't see 10 Wembley gigs at top dollar though. Maybe 1 or 2 but if they went a bit more reasonable then sure they can fill Wembley a few times over. Those first 3 albums were great

Oasis are among the greatest rock & roll bands that we'll ever know. I am in the US and dug them from the 1st single I got in 1994 until they exploded in 2009. I saw their last 2 US shows (2,000 seaters) before the Maine Road shows in 1996, and then I saw them in the 2,600 capacity Tabernacle in Atlanta in 2002. Note for note among the best rock and roll shows out of nearly 1,000 I've seen in over 45 years.

There are always going to be "homers" here on IORR who bash anything mentioned herein as beign good except the Stones, and to them, let all blessings flow. We'll see where this "Filthy Lucre" Tour brings Oasis in the US, if at all. But if I lived in the UK, I'd be digitally-queuing-up for tickets, because 2025 will rock the UK unlike anything since the Stones played Hyde Park in July of 2022.

The line-up will probably be: Liam, Noel; Gem Archer, and Andy Bell. Zak Starkey will guest on drums, with Bonehead making a cameo, possibly.

I can’t envisage stadiums in North America; large arenas, definitely.

Will I go? No. As someone else here posted: it’ll be an absolute ‘bloodbath’ trying to get tickets, here in the UK. I’m too old for the stress. I saw them in ‘08 at Wembley Stadium; that’s a fine memory, right there.

I’ll enjoy the video’s on YouTube.

I'm hoping for Cardiff, Wales to be announced. One of the best gigs I have ever been to was Oasis headlining (with foo fighters support) the Principality Stadium in the middle of December (2005) with the roof closed. Freezing outside but once inside it was like being in Barbados. It was roasting and I managed to catch Liam's microphone (he threw it in) at the end (and get a set list) which capped off an unbelievable gig. It was one of those nights. Magical.

That's my pick too. I'm in a village near Swindon so an easy day trip. Sound is good there too. Imho, by far the best large stadium in the UK and especially so for live music. Wouldn't dream of going on the pitch though, given some of the crowd they attracted. I'll get a last gasp ticket as there will be plenty for a venue that size.

www.theguardian.com:
Oasis have announced that they will reunite for a 14-date tour of the UK and Ireland in 2025.

They will not, however, be headlining Glastonbury festival as was rumoured over the weekend, nor playing 10 dates at Wembley and Etihad stadiums respectively.

Instead, the dates will take place in July and August, hitting stadiums in Cardiff, London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin. Tickets go on sale at 9am on 31 August with prices to be revealed on the day.

Dates at TM

Irish dates suit perfectly thumbs up and no funny golden circles, diamond bs and other money draining. Just normal GA. First come, first served. Beautiful. See you there!

Have you ever seen Oasis in UK or Ireland? I like their music and will go but whole floor GA will be carnage for them. They used to attract some dregs of humanity to their shows here so I will be getting a seat. For those who do choose to stand, I hope the fans have mellowed in the 15 years since they last played.

Dear Grzegorz, I have never seen Oasis in my life. I know the fanbase is very lively, enthusiastic and that people have been waiting for this historic reunion for quite some time. I can only assess and comment the situation from my current point of view and currently available sources.

I've seen Noel in Manchester and Liam separately though. I was middle front at both and had planty of space to jump and dance. Let's wait and see. It's not a metal show (even some metal shows are quite ok without any golden circles, I have some front row experience spinning smiley sticking its tongue out ), it will be ok. These stadiums are not small, the fields are massive and there are plenty of seats, everyone will find a perfect spot for themselves.

They played in all these big stadiums 1st time around too and they still had problems with crowd disorder. I saw them at the old Wembley in 2000 and the new one in 2009, just before they split.

Tickets were very cheap back then. I just hope that with more expensive tickets and the fans 15 years older, they stay sober and listen to the show because 1st time around it was very often a drunken out of tune singalong with crowd surges and fights in the crowd.

I cross my fingers none of that happens this time and it's going to be a much better experience for everyone.

There is no way they will have festival seating, i.e. seats on the main floor.

I can believe that. So it's effectively the HFB + Liam playing Oasis songs. At least they'll be well rehearsed and used to each other, with Liam on board to add vocals and a little bit of tambourine.

2 of the HFB (Drummer Chris Sharrock & Guitarist Gem Archer) were in the final Oasis lineup when they split and also Beadie Eye with Liam for 5 years after so well known to both brothers. I suppose it all makes sense.

The only member of the original band they're on talking terms with is Bonehead. They had 4 different drummers!

Absolutely not. It will be standing and divided into sectors. Even the old Oasis were doing that towards the end. Back then GC entry was based on turning up early so that the most enthusiastic fans were at the front. This time I imagine it will be price based, like nearly everyone else.
