I think that is part of it tbh - it's almost nice that a lot of the rest of the world don't 'get' them, or didn't until recently. I am 43, so was in my teens too at the height of their popularity - it really is hard to explain to someone who didn't experience it just how incredibly huge they were. As a wise man once said; "You weren't there maaaannnnnnnn!" :'D

And I’m 42! Yourself, MadMax and I, are all roughly the same age, and we’re, all three, amongst those championing Oasis the most

My attitude towards them has always been one of ambivalence. I am a love-hater, pro and anti-Oasis at the same time since they came onto the scene.
I can understand Big Al’s sentiment that for a Brit who grew up as a teenager in the 90’s, Oasis are ‘our band’, something deeply connected to their identity.
As a non-Brit who belongs to an older generation, I can’t let go of the feelings of ‘been there, done that’ whenever I hear their music.
I wonder if it might be an intrinsic human nature for the public to find a substitute and make do with something half-arsed when there is nothing appropriate around that helped The Stone Roses, Oasis, Coldplay and the like rise to megastardom.
FWIW I saw The Stone Roses 4 times (1989-2016), Oasis 9 times (1994-2009) and Coldplay 6 times (2005-2024) so no merciless bashing intended here.

I am also not a major fan, but just checked the setlists and realized that I have albums with 16 of the songs they are playing in concert. I have tickets for October 26 in Tokyo but was debating whether to go . . .
I guess I’ll go.
I agree, as well as the UK again. I didn't know of anyone else scoring tickets in the ballot this year.....and I (very annoyingly) ended up being unable to go, so a mate of mine went along to Wembley with my tickets instead and had a blast.Quote

I simply cannot believe that there won’t be shows performed next year. Mainland Europe is on the cards, surely.

And Oasis have played and finished the first night’s performance in Tokyo:

Seemingly they are storming Japan!

Very stable camerawork all the way, distant from the stage but you can enjoy all the visuals on the enormous back screens.
And nice sound. Liam’s vox surprisingly good.
Hugely enjoyable, enough to make this half-arsed fan reflect, “I should have been there.”

That is an old news (dated 30 Sep).
I wish it was true, though.

Yes, I had noted that it's not exactly 'current' Has it been debunked, though?
