I didn't see anyone mention her mention/praise of Matt Clifford as the one who kept the link open after the Milan gig. I suppose many here still don't "like" him and are loath to give him the credit he deserves for being Mick's musical right hand man...
Very true. I think it's because GODDESS IN THE DOORWAY was only 23 years ago. It's still too soon to forget.

Matt Clifford's damage crosses more than 2 decades. He is Mick's Yoko.

No one beats Yoko's high note shrieking though. NO ONE!

I wonder what happened to Sasha.
Maybe she waited for a phone call to do the tour that never came. Just because she'd got a cold that night in Milan now watching Chanel doing her job?

While it's sort of fun (for some of us at least), in all fairness, Matt did make significant contributions to the arrangements of "Continental Drift," "Terrifying," "Break the Spell," and even "Can't Be Seen" on STEEL WHEELS. He also did a terrific job with "Angel in My Heart" on WANDERING SPIRIT. I'm not a fan of his programming tracks for demos, but it did change the way Mick (and therefore the Stones) worked in the 21s Century. I like what he did with "Hideaway" and "Rain Fall Down" at least. I prefer Chuck's playing in the studio to Matt's because Chuck is much more traditional. Even something like Matt's piano additions to the bridge in "Living in the Heart of Love" were still a nice touch. But when I think of Matt, I still think of him rocking out on tambourine during "Brown Sugar." That's pure Matt Clifford to me.
