The AI bots must have digested all the info on IORR. I would be it was Grok.

Sorry. I'm still seeing lagging and slow response times.

A few minutes ago I logged in and it took a good 30 seconds to bring up the login screen, and then about 20 to validate the login.

Same here. While it was ok after 04-Jun-2026 - [iorr.org] - the 'delays' started again on 08-Jun-2026, plus Cloudflare 'Gateway time-out' and 'Bad gateway' on 09-Jun-2026.

If you start Your session With the IORR home page, then accessing tour pages and any other non-forum contents will always be very, very fast.

Hmmmm. A couple of hours ago I changed my home page default to open with the IORR home page instead of the /talk page, logged out, closed my browser.... and then tried to open IORR. It took AGES (minute+) to respond. But it did eventually open.

I then reckoned that I needed to report the malfunction so I decided to login to make the report.

I could not get past the bad gateway screen. After about 5+ minutes of repeatedly trying I gave up completely and went off to deal with some Real Life issues. (ie I don't know when that issue went away.) I was able to log in without issue a five minutes ago..

ADDED... I tried to 'Preview' the above posting, and ironically it failed with a Bad Gateway - which took about a minute to come up after showing 'Waiting for iorr.org..' - issue moments ago.

About 2 hours ago I successfully accessed iorr.org with no noticeable delay. But when I selected 'Tell Me' I got the Gateway error. Repeatedly. So I gave up.

This current login worked with only minor delay.

Edit: A few minutes after posting the above, trying to access topics was problematic. Long delay between selecting a topic and it appearing.

It's AI bots scraping pages for information for them to use...

The problem remains. Can't say that I've noticed any difference. It comes and goes. If you can't log in - wait a couple of minutes and try again...

Yep. Lots of Cloudflare 'Gateway time-out' and 'Bad gateway' e.g. on 10th June, 10pm-11pm CEST or 11th June, around 7pm CEST.

They are thanking him as this thread presents an opportunity to do so.
Apologies if I am missing some “irony”.

Phorum Database Error
Sorry, a Phorum database error occurred.
The error message has been written
to the phorum-sql-errors.log error log.
Please try again later!

Commenting on possible spelling errors went out at the end of the 1980's (and, yes, I have been using teh internets since the 1980's), but I have to ask....

Did you mean to spell 'Forum' like that, or was the error you report spelt exactly how you have shown? ie 'phorum' and not 'forum'?

'Phorum' is the name of the software which is used for the IORR message board system - [en.Wikipedia.org] .

Most of the time the performance of the iorr forum pages is instant. There are times of external abuse, putting a load on the database. If so then try later. The problem is bigger for me, because if some m.. post crap I have to edit or delete right there and then when I spot it. Like political crap or useless clickbate titles.

Many forums seem to have this problem right now. Some have solved it with captchas for uses who are not logged in. Could this be a solution for iorr?

Doesn’t Cloudflare have a protection for this issue?

It can be seen on many other websites with Cloudflare protection: "Performing security verification. This website uses a security service to protect against malicious bots. This page is displayed while the website verifies you are not a bot. Verify you are human.".

No, this error happens because the IORR forums software doesn't support the modern Unicode (character encoding standard) which is mostly used nowadays. Problem solving: [iorr.org] .

The Cloudflare 'Gateway time-out' and 'Bad gateway' issue is still there several times a day - and is annoying & frustrating. There seems to be a general issue in the Internet, since many websites use now a bot protection, for instance even DeepL.com.
