Since when are they starting YCAGWYW with a horn, is that new?

On Steel Wheels tour, the Stones had a full 5 piece horn section - but the live horns were not utilized on Bitch (probably the Stones most famous song with horns)
however, the horns were eventually used on Bitch since then.
She's a Rainbow was never played live until 1997 and played sporadically ever since. But never played using the horn section (including the current tour)...
Too much trouble trying to coordinate the horn section with the band on these songs?

I think the current horn line-up for the Hackney Diamonds tour is back to being pretty thin.

The horn section has consisted of only two sax players since 2012.
And the line-up has been the same since Australia 2014 (Tim Ries and Karl Denson).

Correct. I didn't state it as such but my point was that the horn section including personnel and the number of them has changed over their touring years and in recent years (like you point out since 2012) has again diminished in number making their brass heavy tunes sound pretty thin.

Since 1989 when Matt Clifford joined. When he wasn't present fron VL to ABB Michael Davis did IT often on trombone.

They didnt use the horn section on Bitch in 1989. The horn parts were played on keyboards. And the horn part on She's A Rainbow isnt played at all,

Go back and watch Bitch from Atlantic city '89. If they played on Bitch, it was offstage.

It was done with keyboards. Those aren't real horns. No live horns on that song

... I always kinda thought after hearing many of the soundboard boots from 72 and from the early Pacific/Australian tour from 73 that the horn section was pretty thin, and on songs, specifically like Bitch, Rocks Off, Happy, All Down the Line, would have been better suited to at least 3-4 consistent horn players to knock off those brass heavy tunes...

I think the way Bobby Keys and Jim Price played on All down the line in 1972 was the
best horn playing I've ever heard and will ever hear in my life.
Check Ladies and Gentlemen to hear what I mean.

So they had a Bobby sample they played from a keyboard during Bitch? That's ridiculous. Those are real horns. The only time the Stones ever used a keyboard live for fakery was 2000 Light Years and the cowbell for Honky Tonk.

Just watch the video Geeez. Why are you arguing? If you you don't like it thats not ny fault. Talk to Mick or Keith.

So...back to the original topic...
Why would the band pay big money to have a horn section, only to not use it on She's A Rainbow?
