It's not a "tourisr" ban but the fact of stopping the increase of rental places for 3 years in some specific places.
It's a way to stop the transformation of regular flats for locals into Air B'n'B or holiday rentals

Yes, in the end there was no tour in 2020, but you could order tickets in the early days of february 2020...
I ordered tickets for the St. Louis show as we have friends there and booked flights from germany to STL.
But then in the middle of march 2020 everything changed...
The 2020 dates were postponed - the shows were never cancelled. So I still had my ticket for the St. Louis show, when the Stones started the tour again in autumn 2021 - unfortunately we Europeans were not allowed to enter the US without a 14 day quarantine... I transfered my ticket then to the daughter of our friends - she liked the PIT in her very first Stones show!
... but luckily I could make it to the Hollywood, Florida show in november 2021...
I'm sure San Diego would have been so boring anyway.

I think the general limit on all tickets is normally six? But whether anyone can actually get six pit tickets in one go when they first go on sale is another matter. It can be hard enough to get even a single one, or at least initially, as many of them are tied up with expensive packages of one kind or another. It takes steely patience to wait until nearer the time for ticket drops but they do almost inevitably happen, so keep your eyes peeled and never give up if you don't get want you want right away!

But currently there are a few spots open in the tour for Austria. But it looks like it will not be August. Maybe they look at the Paris numbers and then decide if they want a second Paris show of Austria instead.

I’ve had an email suggesting that Keith is going to play in the March Teenage Cancer Trust concert in London (The Who are playing). I thought it sounded very unlikely - perhaps falls into random guessing!

I've noticed Guns N' Roses in Portugal on 6 June has been on sale at least a month already. A little unsettling, but on the other hand I like not waiting long between ticket purchase and concert date. Maybe this is a good thing.

I think the Stones give sufficient notice with tour announcements under today's circumstances.
Ii makes sense, whilst still allowing folks enough time to make arrangements, to wait until they're reasonably sure that everybody is going to be fit and well for the campaign.

Announcing a tour and then having to cancel or postpone would cause far more hassle for everybody.

The older they are, the longer it will take until they announce a new tour, and the fewer shows there will be in the tour.
It is not rocket science, it is just the result of age. Some do still call them "the boys". We do all feel age, at some point. No need to look it up in an ecyclopedia.

And in Year 2014 their original plan was to play 28 shows on 2 legs, and it ended up in 29 shows on 3 legs excluding one that was cancelled.
Ten years after in 2024, they still played 20 shows on one leg although they had two one-week breaks during the course.
Incredible isn’t it?
