So far

Vienna: "A performance at the Happel Stadium is being negotiated for the 18th and presumably last Austrian concert" - [www.oe24.at] - (22-Jul-2024).

18th of what month, June?

"Last concert" - they said in 1982. That was 42 years ago. Wow.

Ahhhh my bad, I misinterpreted “the 18th”. In my head I’m already busy with planning next summer

London is a big city and the Stones are a big draw. What's more when the Stones play London people come from all over the world. London always has multiple stadium touring bands visit each and every year. Of course the Stones can sell out 2 nights or more in a London stadium next year or any other year for that matter.

Exactly. If they play London, I wanna come over and see them on the home turf. smiling smiley

By the way, I got inside info a few weeks ago that they're coming back to Prague (my home turf, for a change) and playing the Letnany Airport just like back in 2018.

I was going to post it this morning, but for some reason, the website gave me an error.

Anyway, Prague seems to be getting more and more likely, as the frontman of one of their previous support acts, a Czech band called Olympic, spoke publicly about the rumors and said they were already selected as their support, although there is no date yet. Here it is in Czech. cool smiley

Yep Praha my second home is on !

I loved Prague the city. Stunning. But the concert was the most overcrowded I have ever been to in a Pit of the dozens of shows in a pit. On Keiths side it was jammed body to body. It was dangerous So much so we left early. His side was on the opposite side of the entrance and exit so a long walk around the GA. Prague is worth a visit, but I hope they pick a different site.

Unfortunately, same horrible place

Indeed. Loved Prague, but by a country mile that was the least enjoyable of my 42 lifetime Stones shows, in a horribly hot and dusty venue with a long wait to get onto the Metro afterwards. Luckily I was in Warsaw 4 days later, which more than made up for it smiling smiley

yes but it was bv who hinted at them doing that before europe so it makes one wonder even if it's still unlikley

those poor australian and japanese fans have waited a pretty long time

Come on! Seriously? Let them do Europe first with HD Album! This is the easiest and biggest music market, besides australian and japanese fans are not "poor" at all, they can easily travel to both Europe and US at any time. Try traveling to Japan/Australia for the shows when you earn EUR 850/ monthly...:/

first i was not implying that japanese or australian fans are actually poor just that they've waited a decade for them to play in there countries again and it be nice if they got see the band again in there own countries

also i'm sure there's plenty of japanese/australian fans who want to see them and can't afford traveling thousands of miles to see them either

and you don't need to lecture me about not being able to afford to see them they played less then a hundred miles from me this year and i couldn't make it work let alone thousands of miles away

plus look at it this way if they play the first couple shows in australia and japan then by the time they reach europe they'll have knocked the rust off

for what its worth i think they should have toured in europe this year not america

it just makes more sense considering how much better the album charted and sold there then here

and it didn't exactly fill me with civic pride when my counrty men gave such a lukewarm response to a gem like out of time (unlike the europeans in 22) that mick had to drop it after a few shows

Well, the hardcore fans will travel even to the moon if the band plays there. But the casual fans do not. Money or not, they just don't bother if seeing the band gets too complicated. That's why the band reaches to them, not the other way around. They go there where the casual fans are rich enough to see them (=a good market) and it is logistically worthwhile. And it is them - the casual fans with their money - that makes the band wealthy and happy.

Surely Japan/Australia will have a good chance.

Bloody casual fans !

If it weren't for them we'd be able to the see the Stones in clubs and theatres all the time...

Oh, hang on, wait a minute.

Wouldn't be worth their time . They'd have retired donkey's years ago.

We shouldn't knock the casual fans .

They're the reason we still have the Rolling Stones

I do know there are a lot of fans they are younger as me (74 of age). I've seen them in Antwerp 1973 and every tour they made in Europe. And I understand very good that you want a new tour and then after? A next new tour?
Wait and see and no propections as : this town or this town: Wait and see. Stones play where they want to play and not fans where they have to play.

The casual fans will out last the hard cores. Too bad for us in a way. But sure it’s also nice to see they’re still famous. It’s a double edged sword like everything else.

Please quote quote quote i.e. more than 2-3 times, because it makes it impossible to understand the post, also, often it is the same people quoting their own posts. Post your own opinion, rather than making the 5th or 6th quote.

I will delete posts with multiple i.e. more than 3-4 quotes. It is extra work, so please help in by NOT quoting multiple times.

If the goal is to sell HD copies proper, Japan would make more sense. They still buy physical records and CD’s there. Time will tell.

I do not think that would be the goal. They make far more money from touring than selling physical product. Maybe a goal upon first release, so they can get a high chart ranking, for bragging purposes and historical significance but after this amount of time HD isn't going to surge to the top of the charts Japan or anywhere.

I’m surprised they are going to be touring next summer in Europe.

I know there’s enough venues to hold multiple touring acts at the same time in a given country but is there the road crew and equipment capacity? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a busier stadium touring schedule as what 2025 already has in place.

I read (On a Springsteen board, sorry no link shared on there) a Greek promoter dropped a major hint on Facebook this week. Not sure if anyone has seen this?
