They didn't strugle, they maximalised revenue.

Maximizing revenue with €89 tickets - [iorr.org] ?

Maximizing tickets with 525 euro pit and innenraum tickets and therefore having to discount some 5.000 tickets. They sold 90% of the tickets against maximized prices.

They could sell out in minutes, but that is not the game plan if you want to maximize ticket prices.

The only thing which is left to further optimize is dynamic pricing. Which is happening more and more. Let's hope it's not that bad for this 2025 tour.

But those seats were never 500€ or something like that. Original prices were 150€ and 240€ which is quite a normal price. They were not able to sell them at that price because they demand was not there.

The same thing was visible at many concerts last year in the States. While the high priced tickets especially pit were hard to get there we're many Tickets available for as low as 100$ and just didn't sell good. My assumption is there's a limited demand in quantity but the people who go are willing to pay a very high amount of money.

What they do it creating a fake feeling there is a lot of demand. So they sell the expensive tickets first, and after that you will get drops of tickets, more affortable. If I recall correctly this is also what happend in Munchen 22.

It's no coincidence that the seats left where full blocks. They just held them back to make people think there is scarcity so they would buy the more expensive tickets.

you are 100% right about the group of people willing to pay a very high amount of money. This is exactly why dynamic pricing works. People buying 5000 dollar floor seats. Just crazy.

Anyway, back on topic; I am sure the Stones make a right decision if they want to do double headers in a city. They and the team are the best at what they do.

Lazio will play their last championship match at the Olimpico in Rome on May 25. How will they play there on May 20?

Maybe after Guns n Roses (July 24) if they get the stage ready in 2 days, maybe the concerts on July 27 and 31?

The Stones are able to play back to back dates with other artists. They would even be able to play a concert, let another act play the next day and then play another concert a few days later.

have you ever seen how long it takes to construct and deconstruct huge stages?

If they use the "festival stage" from Guns n Roses they only have to put up their sound, lighs and screens.

Not that long, example Munich 2022: [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] .

In Hamburg 2017 and in Munich 2022, the stages were as good as dismantled the next afternoon after the concert.

This is exactly what the Stones do. They source the stages locally.

Bruce (similar vintage, ticket prices) European dates included double headers in Lille, Liverpool, San Sebastián etc - ie plenty of demand

Bruce immediately sells out stadiums here in Germany while the Stones struggled last time to fill up Munich and Gelsenkirchen. In Munich there were thousands of cheaper seats available in the weeks before the concert and the official numbers of sold tickets prove this. They even had discounted tickets for 89€ via a local newspaper Sale.

No need to compare Springsteen to the Stones and downplay the Stones here. This is off topic.

And I am glad the Stones sell tickets at 89 Euro! Anyone should be able to see the Stones. They also offer Lucky Dips for even less. We should be thankful - I am at least and I hope for Lucky Dips in 2025.
I was both in Gelsenkirchen and Munich and the places were packed.

Also, the Stones last year had only 2 days off between double headers in LA and NYC, so I assume it's gónna be the same this year for Vienna and Barcelona.

You cannot compare other touring acts to the Stones, it's apples and oranges.

The price of tickets for every band is different. If they all chagred the same prices, played the same number of shows in the same stadiums then you could compare them. But they don't.

The Stones charge more than anyone, look at any of their tours for the last 30 years, the average gross is always the highest in any given year you want to look at.

A mini tour of 14-20 shows doesn't need to sellout immiediately, in order to maximize ticket revenue you have to be willing to have some unsold seats.

Hardly, it’s an example of a similar legacy act with similar ticket prices playing back to back dates in regional places- not a comparison or off topic, just to point out two gigs in Barcelona or Vienna isn’t outlandish

On the ticket price point, modern strategies dictate if a show sells out too quick its underpriced - that goes for most large acts, not just the stones

Anyway, back to rumours now hopefully…..

these pictures were on May 28th, June 2nd and June 3rd. In other words they support my thesis that it takes a while to construct huge stages (and on the third pics taken two days before the shows the construction is not yet finished).
In short: It's very unlikely that the Stones will be able to do a shows one or two days after another big act played the same venue – even not if they use the same basic stage construction

I would assume it always depends on the local situation (grass etc) and the local crew. This article says it took three days for the No Filter stage - which was a much more complicated stage than the Sixty one. That was a standard stage.

Rolling Stones played in Vienna at 15th of July 2022
Rolling Stones plays on the Guns and Roses Stage !!! 100% !!!
Guns&Roses played 2days before at 13th of July 2022
...so it is possibel that the Rolling Stones
have her 1st Gig at Saturday 26th of July ( Micks Birthday) !!!
and the 2nd at Wednesday 30th of July ( maybe Tourend)
Guns and Roses do not need the Stage because
they are at 31th at Wacken Festival) ( Wacken has her own Stage)
I am only a fan , but this would be really fantastic !

"Rumor has it that the tour starts in Barcelona, continues on May 20 in Rome, in June it reaches Copenhagen, and in July it makes stops in Berlin, Munich, and Vienna."

It's so obvious they use IORR as a source, but these 'newspapers' never or rarely give it credit.

I like your thinking too!

And though this is a subject I don’t usually post on because I have little knowledge of such things, I do see two dates in Vienna as a distinct possibility.. I was at the ‘22 Vienna show and it was packed to the rafters (I sat in almost the very last upper row for this show, my wonderful Lucky Dips lol, and it was packed and with a very joyous dancing singing crowd, all of whom I imagine would come back for a second show — if their work schedule allowed smiling smiley

And as mentioned by others, there were many people I met from neighboring countries there. By far one of my favorite experiences and if I can raise the funds I will be there for both shows!

The Stones and probably GnR too don't have their own stage anymore. That's why the Sixty Stage looked different everywhere they played. Local festival stage. Both in Milan and Vienna they shared the stage with other artists.

FC Barcelona has asked the company BSM (Barcelona de Serveis Municipals), dependent on Barcelona City Council, for an extension until the end of April of the contract it currently has until March 31 to use the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc. As MD has learned, a key meeting is planned for this week in which the Barça club may see the right to use Lluís Companys extended for another month with the expectation that he can return to the Spotify Camp Nou in the month of May. at the latest.

There is solid optimism within Barça that the last games of the season can be played in the Les Corts Coliseum with some 60,000 seats available in the First and Second Grades. The Clásico against Real Madrid is scheduled for May 10 or 11, just before a hypothetical Champions League semi-final (April 29-30 for the first leg and May 6-7 for the second leg).

Barça also knows the plans of BSM, which is close to announcing the premiere of a world tour by a top-level band or singer whose first three concerts will take place at the Estadi Olímpic in May with the need to also install the stage with three weeks notice for rehearsals. The Rolling Stones and Rosalía are very high in the pools.[/b] The most immediate that has already been confirmed is the Guns N' Roses concert on June 9, but LaLiga will already be over.[/b]

In short, the latest reports in Spain are saying The Rolling Stones will do their tour start in Barcelona, with two may be three shows. At the Olympic Stadium.

There are talks about both Olympic Stadium and Camp Nou, may be there is a renovation issue, local fans may fill us in here. Thanks!

The stadium -Camp Nou- will be open in mid-February but there have been many delays until now. Hopefully by May the team will be back in its stadium and the show/shows will take place in Estadi Olimpic. That's important because actually Barcelona FC is playing in Estadi Olimpic ....
And see meteoman's post above.

Maybe three shows? Wow.
