Any word on the UK?
Hyde Park again?
Twickenham again?
London Stadium again?
Anfield again?
Glastonbury again?
They still have never played the new Wembley Stadium

They won’t do Anfield that’s for sure. It barely broken even for the promoters last time, they ended up giving 1000s away to local residents to fill it up.

I do know that the Co Op live owners made a pitch for them a while back when they opened that arena. It never worked out but don’t be surprised to see a date either there or at the Ethiad Stadium over the road. McCartney and Springsteen already have dates in the arena upcoming, they really do seem to pay a premium to entice the big guns indoors.

I don’t see a Glastonbury slot. The Stones ticked it off the list in 2012 and took a massive cut to do so. BST seems the most logical one. Wembley dates are non existent in 2025, Oasis and Coldplay have swallowed them all up. So much so Oasis had to add 2 further dates at the end of September as that was all they had left available.

I’ve no inside info but Wembley seem to have the scope to do a lot more gigs than they used to, eg Linkin Park announcing this week in addition to dua lipa, Coldplay and oasis already announced

Also spurs stadium (currently imagine dragons x2 and catfish and the bottle men) has capacity (although rumours of multiple Beyoncé and gaga dates in the works)

Hyde park/BST rumours include Sam fender and Sabrina carpenter for remaining 2 slots but fingers crossed it’s the stones

Co-op live, fantastic venue but at 23k capacity will the £ work…..

The sound is excellent, I'd say. My brother and I had GA tickets, and stood midway between the 'Gold Circle' and the back.

Also, it was quite easy to get our spot; we'd literally just left the beer queue, when the 'Charlie drumming' intro started-up.

Sound is always good in a field but sound volume is always quite low compared to other Rolling Stones shows.

Italian Serie A football tournament ends on 25 May
So, stadio Olimpico will be available since Monday 26
I’m afraid it’s going to be the tour opening act, unless football tournaments end earlier abroad

Cardiff Principality has opened many major European tours recently due to its roof and availability (Springsteen, Oasis) and with gaps in its May schedule I'm keeping all my fingers crossed for the Stones!

Ah ah no, you're dreaming grinning smiley
AC/DC doesn't need anyone to fill stadiums.
The Stones did, in 2003.

Well...... AC/DC played support for The Stones, not the other way around. Also, I saw AC/DC at Wembley in the summer. As much as I love them they sounded rough. Especially Brian

It's empty 90% of the year, though with the roof closed I think it sounds worse. Last show they upgraded people including myself from GA to Golden Circle and there was plenty of availability including Lucky Dips.

Interesting. I have always found the roof being closed at the Principallity (usually due to weather) produces a better sound/crowd. Last Stones gig in 2018 I was high in the rafters and remember it being a pretty nice day so no need for the roof. Anyway, it beats Wembley for sound, setting and crowd hands down. Fingers crossed for a Stones gig in Cardiff next year!

Multiple rounds of Lucky Dips as I recall, and they threw in some Groupons as well winking smiley

They even let us "trade in" a couple pairs of nosebleed LDs, also ended up in the GC .
Great venue, fantastic place to visit smileys with beer

So either they announce in the next two weeks or earliest end of january, more likely february. They certainly won't announce shortly before Christmas. I would still bet for February.

I'm not necessarily disputing it, but do you have any publicly available evidence to back this up? I'm just curious/interested.

Oh no: I read "there is no doubt their European shows will pack the same punch." And here I understand 'European' to be a geographical terminus so this would mean a Tour of Europe including the UK.

And I would understand "The announcement will be coming in the next few weeks" to mean before the end of this year! smiling bouncing smiley

It's The Sun newspaper so I would fully expect the next few weeks to mean...February.

The Rolling Stones have not performed in Norway since 2014. For the expected Tour in Europe next year, it will be 11 years since they visited my home country, if they take the tour to Norway.

So far they have done all shows in Norway in the capital city Oslo, except for the show in 2014 (Fornebu/Bærum near Oslo), and 2006 (Bergen).

In the recent years the promoters in Norway have started booking 40,000 capacity locations in Stavanger (Forus horse race track) and Trondheim (Granåsen winter sports area).

In Oslo the only 40,000 capacity location is Voldsløkka, a large area of football fields.

The Stavanger and Trondheim locations may be tempting for The Rolling Stones, as they have not been performing there before, but they are both small cities with a limited number of hotel rooms. I am sure they will be able to make more money booking Voldsløkka (Oslo), but that location is open for just two week-ends or so in July every year.

So far there are no rumours about any shows in Norway, but I sure hope for one in Oslo, it would make travel a bit easier for me, at least for one of the shows of the tour.

@Bjornulf:

I guess it's not only me here who would be over ejoyed if the Stones would play in Oslo, followed after two days by a little surprise acoustig gig in your backyard or garden... grinning smiley

But your last sentence gave me the impression, that this time, you won't be following the band to every stop of the EU tour, in favour of the hopefully happening Oslo gig.

Well, I seriously hope I'm wrong here!?

Some read beetween the lines of what I post, so I have improved details of my post done earlier today, to remove some of the speculations.

All I wanted to do was to mention two more possible cities for the Stones in Norway - Stavanger and Trondheim.

That's much better. Sorry for mixing it up. The Stones should play both, IMHO!

Contracts are about to be signed very soon.
