New Wembley Stadium the sound isn't great.

I am not convinced they have really forgiven Wembley for not being ready for their 2007 gigs and giving the opening to the Artic Monkeys.

Would imagine based on 2014 that IF Asia is happening then more contrete rumours should be happening in the next 3 weeks for a late November/Early December announcement. Will be interesting if any of Europe is mentioned at the same time or whether we will have to wait until March (similar to the 14 on Fire timescales) Before we know about Europe.

AC/DC doesn't need anyone to fill stadiums.
The Stones did, in 2003.

And they needed Metallica, too, on the A Bigger Bang Tour. I don’t recollect whether they were billed at the ‘opener’, or if it was a double-bill. I’m assuming it was all due to poor ticket sales? As big as the Stones are, I find it hard to believe that monstrously popular metal act, like Metallica, would wish to support anyone. Still, it happened. Anyone know the full story?

I don't know the story, but I'd venture that an act like Metallica might even do it as an homage to a band like the Stones.

Nothing new: in Rome it was rumored they were trying to have the Italia superstar Vasco Rossi in order to sell out the stadium

Re: European Tour 2025 - rumors?
Date: November 6, 2024 21:17

this is partially off topic so i apologize, never been to italy and have always wanted to visit. i would make rome my base to go on day trips outside of rome but the main reason is to see the the stones again, even if the stones played somewhere else in italy. they where so good on tour this year i need to see more if i can, saw chicago 1 and 2 and my home state in ridgedale, missouri. jubilee is starting the end of this year and it seems rome will be pretty busy in 2025. is this enough to discourage a trip to rome? probably not but i appreciate any feedback. cheers, peace, have a nice day.

mizzou I am in the same boat as you, I am in Colorado. I have been to Italy twice, but planning a trip next year centered around a Stones tour. And taking my in laws who have never seen the Stones or been to Italy, was hoping they would announce the tour early like last time. For Italy I have heard Napoli and Rome and rumored cities. Would love if they did both

I have no idea if they will do Glastonbury
But Glastonbury tickets are very complex and sold with out a lineup. You do not buy these tickets on a resale site

Registration closes at 5pm GMT on Monday, 11th November, after which there is no opportunity to submit/re-submit a registration until after the November ticket sales.

TICKETS PLUS COACH TRAVEL ON SALE AT 6PM GMT, THURSDAY, 14TH NOVEMBER

Glastonbury will not happen in 2026- 2026 is a fallow year to allow the land to recover after the thousands of fans who attend the event.

in 2023 Ronnie said "it's a must" that they headline Glastonbury

Unless they plan to play for what Glastonbury pays it won't happen. They reportedly pay much less than the going rates for the publicity.

never say never again...but they like ticking boxes...and they've ticked that one already.

don't think it's really the money.
They wouldn't mobilise the army just for that...but if they're already campaigning in Europe, it's just an extra skirmish to engage in.

I agree. 'If' they hit the U.K., I envisage Wembley Stadium, with a show in the north of England, plus Cardiff and, say, Glasgow.

They stood in line, like other support acts, to meet the Stones. And they were instructed not to use the entire stage.

There were a few funny stories about the meet and greet. Lars Ulrich said (paraphrasing) «Mick Jagger looked at me like I was about to give him pneumonia, or something» smiling smiley

Not sure if they were needed to secure the ticket sale, though, but I reckon it made the sell out a safer bet.

The good news with Robbie Williams: as he comes to Munich Olympiastadium, despite to rumors of renovations, Olympiastadium Munich seems to be ready to welcome the Stones next year.

CIRCOLANO VOCI IN ITALIA PER ROMA STADIO OLIMPICO FINE MAGGIO 25.....

Rome, 13 November 2024 – It seems that the official announcement will only arrive between the end of January and the beginning of February, but the European leg of the Rolling Stones' Hackney Diamonds Tour is practically a done deal, as is practically a done deal the only Italian stop at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome , scheduled for the last week of May to kick off the long summer of rock in the capital.

Any word on the UK?
Hyde Park again?
Twickenham again?
London Stadium again?
Anfield again?
Glastonbury again?
They still have never played the new Wembley Stadium

They won’t do Anfield that’s for sure. It barely broken even for the promoters last time, they ended up giving 1000s away to local residents to fill it up.

I do know that the Co Op live owners made a pitch for them a while back when they opened that arena. It never worked out but don’t be surprised to see a date either there or at the Ethiad Stadium over the road. McCartney and Springsteen already have dates in the arena upcoming, they really do seem to pay a premium to entice the big guns indoors.

I don’t see a Glastonbury slot. The Stones ticked it off the list in 2012 and took a massive cut to do so. BST seems the most logical one. Wembley dates are non existent in 2025, Oasis and Coldplay have swallowed them all up. So much so Oasis had to add 2 further dates at the end of September as that was all they had left available.

Thank you for the insight.

So, Hyde Park again, possibly. That would suit me more than a stadium, for sure.
