Re: European Tour 2025 - rumors?

Well I am holding off committing any dates to my Netherlands vacation in hopes we hear some tour news in December/Jan. If I’m not mistaken I bought my Vancouver July tickets in November of the previous year so if they are planning a European tour I would assume tickets would go on sale near Christmas of this year. This would be the double plus holiday dream come true of seeing the Stones while on holiday in the homeland. Fingers crossed! Who knows, maybe even a new album or ep.

They might have been touring Australia this month

AFL in Australia baulked at $20m for 4 songs (As opening Act for Grand Final yesterday)

Except for the coveted November announcements Nov 2018 (for 2019) and Nov 2023 (for 2024). Wish the Nov announcements were more common.

I guess the Stones will want to sell stuff before Christmas. That could be tickets for the new tour in 25, or a new compilation or even new album or even live album (Paris 76, just sayin). And then announcements for the tour around February. Just like Feb 18, Feb 21, Feb 22...

</irony> Must be true, it was in the Daily Mail </endirony>

Somewhere in the innards of iorr there's a well sourced posting that gives an informed account of how much The Stones charge for a private (or one-off??) gig.

The AFL have actually bothered to formally deny that Ms Perry was paid $5m and that the fee was "a lot less than that". Mind you, she had so many dancers out there with her that for each of them to have been paid a fair amount for rehearsing and then performing live, she'd have to have had quite a big fee.

But then again, she MAY have treated it as loss-leading advertising for her new album and forthcoming Tour down here. That would then be chargeable against Income Tax as a genuine cost of doing business. So whatever she was paid, it was probably underwritten by the Australian Tax Payer!

Either way, it was a far less memorable performance than Meatloaf's 2011 contribution.

If I happen to bump into her in Melbourne I'll ask her about it....

That article contradicts itself.

It opens with saying the Stones turned down a 20 million offer, but the 5th bullet says the organizers baulked at the price tag.

Sounds a bit early for Paris (at least if it's supposed to be an outdoor gig...)

What was the source, link's not working anymore?

No problem AT all for a date mid may in Paris Stade de France weather wise or an organisation stand point for the tour . Its not a rumor AT all right now in paris. Last question to be answered IS if paris will be the tour opener.
Rehearsals in paris, opener at stade de France and maybe a second date already in the works depending on demand. Stones are the talk of the town right now, Antoine Can confirm it

Last time was because of security measures. The date was close to Bastille Day and the Prefecture decline the requests. It was too late for the Stade de France so they went to the Race track.

Now, after the Olympic games is more realistic but it seems that the Stade de France talks are more advanced.

I wonder where the London date will be? I really don't fancy a gigantic, isolated stadium, like Wembley. Hyde Park, situated in Central London, is so much more ideal.

Kinda works - mid July finish on the 14th before Dua Lipa on 21st. Spring start ties with BV’s previous posts.

Les rolling stones en france on facebook

It seems complicated to dismantle one stage and reassemble another.
Stade Vélodrome :
May 18th 2028 : last match of Olympique de Marseille
May 24th 2025 : Jul
May 31st 2025 : Bruce Springsteen.
June 6th and 7th 2025 : Ed Sheeran

So there is some room from june 9th to june 17th (David Guetta : june 21st)

The Stones use standard festival stages again since the Sixty tour as does Bruce. Sharing a stage is possible and has been done with another act for example in Milan 2022.

The new stadium stages pretty much pop up out of trucks and much less complicated than spending several days building them as in the past. This is in addition to stage sharing which does happen from time to time in North America.

Frankie Valli is 90 and is still touring. Including performing three show's in three days in different cities. I hope to see him perform this September in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Who knows maybe the Stones have 10 plus years a head of them!

Did you actually see Frankie Valli (age 90) live on stage?

May be he is touring these days, but there is a playback of his singing, and he looks more like a ghost than a real singer on stage, sorry to say it, take a look yourself:

Video: Frankie Valli breaks silence after sparking health fears with viral performance video (Mail Online)

The Rolling Stones are certainly not at that stage yet, but they do have backup on stage, supporting the complete sound and flow of the songs.
