I'm listening to it now. The album is fine, classic rock & roll. I think Keith likes this kind of music more than the new Stones album.

"Thunder on the mountain" is really good - I am surprised. Terry Taylors licks are catchy.

I just gave most of it listen and I really liked it. It definitely reminded me of listening to Monkey Grip which I also enjoyed.

Great driving album in a sort of 'time to play B sides' mood. A lot of Chuck influence, but Bill puts his stamp on this one.

I give it a B+

Not that bad a bit too monotone as a whole album imo maybe a background girl singer would cheer it up a little bit on some tunes.

Like Bill said it himself, with these recordings he is channeling the great JJ cale. Cale is a musician who is loved by other talented musicians;that is the ultimate compliment. Thank you Bill, great record!

Listened last night to the new one and 2015s Back to Basics and really enjoyed both. Bill's voice really suits the material.

Twenty years ago I met Bill briefly after the Rhythm Kings' gig in Dublin. I was just adding the show to setlist.fm today. 21st July 2004, cannot recall the setlist but added the date.

That last LP would have fit in the Rhythm Kings discography, I love it , and it's a good surprise.
Do not expect the album of the year , just a cool old musician who just keep on rockin' and who just want to keep playin', don't stop Bill, a good one you just did

I always liked Bill very much and appreciate his importance for the STones, and no offence here, the songs are fine but his singing is weak and monotonous. It's not his fault but his voice was never that strong, and now it's rather gone.

For me it is no pleasure to listen to, sorry.

Once I got over his 'gravelly whisper singing', it's a jolly fine album for an octogenarian. His bass parts are rather buried, but with some close listening they are indeed discernible. Nothing fancy, but sturdy and rockin'. I wouldn't call the album 'old timey', but it ain't exactly modern, either. A fine tribute to his musical legacy.

Maybe the perspective is different from a producer's point of view - being responsible how the whole thing sounds like - than that of just observing it just from one instrument's - one's own - point of view... Less an ego issue I guess...

That said, hard to find any technical info about the album - label, distributor, producer, engineer, etc. All home made by Bill?

The more I listen to the new album the more I am enjoying it. Laid back groove, lovely playing throughout, and as I mentioned previously, Bill's weathered, whispered vocals add atmosphere and charm. Overall I find I'm looking forward already to giving it another spin tonight or tomorrow

Sporify doesn't seem to have Sweet Bsby yet or Tell Me A Secret (neither does YouTube). The latter is the Rhythm Kings' track I am sure. But looking forward to how Bill approaches it on this album.

"Drive my car" could have easily be a song in the last stones album. One of the best by the way.
And while we're at it, imagine Charlie playing the drums in this song.

Great album, easily my favorite Bill Wyman album (along with "Bill Wyman" from 1982).

I love JJ Cale, but this is almost too much of him.

It is a short album even with the bonus tracks. Bill doesn't cover Stones tracks the way Taylor, Ronnie, KR, and Mick do. It would have been fun to add one. I would pick Paracute Woman.
